Unfortunatly this will not work as the rollbar etc will prevent you from getting them in possition with out major damage.
I do like the standing ones ,these enhance the model no end

Alternatively Biante could produce the figures in the car, Prodrive have done this with the new 1/18 subaru from Rally Deutschland 2002 and it looks cool!
ADMIN: still no word, will you be getting this in, sorry to get repetitive but i can't afford it from Swrt, any chance u might get it? please? sorry to sound pathetic but :p

I think a range of 1:18 figures would be fantastic. To release them to match some of the cars already produced - maybe some old Moffat figures, or Johnson and Brock figures...

Sitting Driving figures wouldn't be hard to insert if they were maybe made in kit form. Leg & Buttocks, then Torso with Movable arms, Head in Helmet. All figure parts could be attached by pin and socket method.
Assemble figure in the cockpit by using access via Passenger and Driver's doors.
'Hey Presto' One Test Pilot....
CC's did Ingall and Perkins driver figurines with moving arms and torso.
Models with driver figurines already in them would be a great way of getting models.
Maybe figurines of Moffat,Ickx,Bond and Hamilton shpuld go with the 1-2 1/18 finish set.
My recollection from the Bathurst gathering, when this topic was raised,
was that sitting figures would never be done by Biante because of
the difficulty in apply the decals and making them look presentable like
the actual models.
I think Biante were worried about decreasing the value of the models
if this problem with the figures proved to be correct.

Minichamps don't have a problem making sitting drivers and even I can apply after market decals to a an already inserted driver. So that sounds like a lame excuse.
The driver could easily be inserted at the time of construction. as for all the models previously made make standing drivers.
I think I will use a surplus F1 driver as a trial to see how it looks.
