over the years as a maintenance carpenter i managed to collect / horde quite a few old items that people were throwing out.
as a lot of this took up space it was sold off , funding most of my model collection.
eg old white bakerlite telephone with dail that didn't work sold for $200. 5 yrs back, old travellers trunk , looked like a pirates chest sold 4 yrs back $150 etc.
still have an old clothes iron powered by kerosine and some old airline memorabilia, small railway scales and other stuff that i have forgotten about and stored in my dads shed.
nearly forgot about the 5 copper fire extinguishers that got me into this hobby they were sold and brought my first biante a 65e and the factory model of a fokker F27 that i swapped for a track red XYGTHO 1/18 scale

I think I paid 8.00us for the blue box and somewhere around 10-12.00us mark for the yellow box. When working out total cost you must factor in postage and the conversion rate, still cheap. Buy bulk off the one seller saves a bundle on postage.:)
Most of the nascar teams change the paint styles for each race, One model from 07 may have 6 or 7 different variations, it would be a hard collection to complete and costly

yeah i saw that wouldnt mind it since its a vette!
I inherited my uncle's small collection of old cameras. I've added the few I already had and now we're up around 25 or so. Most of them work.
I have a full set of Robert A Heinlein's novels (except the 'new' previously unpublished one - waiting for that at the Science Fiction bookshop).
About 500 diecast cars, of course. Motorsport books. Full set of Motor Racing Australaia and Australian Muscle Car mags (naturally).
Stage props. I make, buy and acquire props for a couple of local musical and theatre groups - Mrs Moxon (not her stage name) is an actress, singer, dancer, director and choreographer. Miss Moxon is also most of these - at 12 years old. In order to have something in common with them, I do some of the property things when there's a show. And I keep my stuff.
Did you know that there's a level of Hell for hoarders? I'll see y'all there! It's level 4 and we share it with the wasters. Should be interesting.

As some of you know I love collecting Metallica stuff.
I'm a metclub member & they sometimes sell limited stuff just for club members.
Like Metallica Shift Knobs! runs of about 100 each in different colours. "not that they will be used on any car, they are more a display Item"
I was lucky to get my hands on 3 over the years & today my 4th one landed.
The 1st one I got a few years ago was a green scary guy, then a James hetfeild green head, then an orange Vuture one.
James signs the 1st 25 but never got a signed one, just happy to get one!
Anyway the 4th one is a Kirk Hammet Green Hell head " I tried to stick to one colour of each, but they didnt make any green Vults" & this time Kirk put his siggy on the 1st 25 & to my suprise I got one of the 1st 25 Hell Yeah!!!
Most of you guys would just look & things they look crap, but to a Metallica fan they are gold! "As they say each to there own"
Here are the photos.

One day when I forgot my weekly ticket, I was fined, so I photocopied that weeks tick plus the last 6 months of tickets I still had :p

I'm afraid I've been going a bit ballistic (pardon the pun) over these little guns lately. To date I have picked up about 30 and I believe there is something like 50 or so in this collection. They are very good replica's of the real guns and quite legal.

Unfortunately at the end of last year, I started to collect those little Bobbleheads and spent every cent of my money on them. I now really regret it as I could have had two more 1:18 diecats cars in my collection.:(
I also used to collect AFL football cards which I also now regret. I spent over $100 trying to get the whole set and everytime I bought a new pack, every single card was a double.:(

Ok. I have a shot of Jack Perkins No.7 car that looks like it was after race 2, going by the damage to the door, my dad actually took the photo while he was down in the pits. So if your side skirt has that mark on it that can be seen when you zoom in on this photo then my guess is it is from Jacks car.

I collect heaps of stuff from the 50's, mainly old milkbar stuff and the like, but I also have enamel signs, old poker machine, red telephone box, railway stuff...basically anything from the 50's or thereabouts. I used to have a shed setup out the back fitted out like an old shop...with all my stuff, used to be fantastic, but had to demol;ish for an extension to the house. Will upload pics if you wish, when I get a chance.

yeah it is a little bit unusual, but they look great mounted up on the wall in my "man room" isnt funny the lengths we go to, to stop ourselfs from drving while disqualified, i ended up selling the engine out of my valiant to stop me from driving, but then built a 360:D with much more power. lol, lets just say i didnt learn my lesson.

i did been clear ever since
it was sheer bad luck losing it in the first place (5 days after i got it)
was on a road out ourway known as the roller coaster (sheffield road montrose)
didnt even see the car mounted camera
lesson cost me this....
1 month suspention of licence 4 demerrit points
$265 fine and a week b4 i was due to get my licence back got slapped with a 12 month mpassenger restriction which i never stuck to
the 12 month was anew thing for drivers losing there licence in the first 12 months of their p's
least insurance were still goot to me even though fo the 5 yrs when ever i chnaged company they asked have you lost you licence in the past 5 yrs when i explain it to them and how soon after i got my licence and not a blip since i never got that extra excess :D

while most of them are imaculate, some of them do need a resto, but that will have to wait (too costly) Thats a great idea mate, but I can't imagine how costly collecting steering wheels is. Just today, I saw a Momo VL brock wheel for nearly a couple of grand on ebay.
So do you have any pics of your steering wheel wall?

to be honest, it hasn't been that expensive for me, all the brock stuff ive had for years, and payed next to nothing for them, and the gt wheels, my old man gave them to me.
It is good to hear of something different in a collection. nice

Some of you guys have a great collection of different stuff and seeing the coins and notes up here almost makes me want to start collecting again but hey where do you stop. Have to admit though, I am a bit of a collectamanic and if it is car related even better from brochures through to actual cars ;).
But my recent acquistion has taken me away from V8Supertaxi's and lead me into F1
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x207/Motiv8or/W heel.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x207/Motiv8or/W heel1.jpg
This wheel is from the 2006 season when Webber was with Williams, the guy that I bought it off was unable to comfirm if it was from his car but who cares for the price that I paid for it - co-incidently got it the day before he won the Grand Prix....
As I have got quite a few different wheels from the V8Supertaxi's evolution this certainly makes a nice addition to "the collection".
Fat little bugger isn't it.
What is the go with all the wheel weights?

Fat little bugger isn't it.
What is the go with all the wheel weights?
Not only is it a fat little bugger (wider than V8Supercar) but it is heaps lighter too, in comparison!!
May be thats why Mark wasn't competitive back then as he was carrying too much weight....:D Dont know why but the writing on the side says that "Bead not OK" so dont know if that has something to do with all of the extra weights

I found some Yello tapes a while back and gave them to my brother, think he may have chucked them in the end. I did give them a bit of a listen though, I kinda like the Oh Yeah song just for the simple reason that its kind of weird and catchy :) Anyway its a pretty cool and unusual subject you have there.
i got a massive transformers collection / and i have some transformers statues
'Apart from my love of diecast cars, I have found my true calling in Transformers. Since I was 8 years ago when the cartoons began, this collection has well and truly revived my memories of Transformers. The movie in 2007 must have twigged my unconscious. I am excited about the impending new movie, Transformers : Revenge of the Fallen. (For those who don’t know, The Fallen is a character in the Transformers. I initially though ‘fallen’ referred to the Decepticons that died in the first movie)
Anyway, here is my collection of Transformers statues / busts… They are made out of resin and are very beautifully crafted with great attention to detail. They are made in China. Maybe CC and Biante can hire some of the people who produced these are they are of an exceptionally high quality. They are produced in limited quantities. Some are out of 500, 1000 or 1500. They even come with a COA with an autograph of the designer. Some have been cheap from $40 (Bumblebee and Cliffjumper – discounted at Comic Store – usually $100 RRP) to $200 (Optimus Prime and Megatron at the back are two wall plaques where you combine into one big set). Although most have been around the $120 mark.
A few companies in the USA make these busts. All but one of these were made by Diamond Select Toys and other one was made by Palasadies is the Optimus Prime on Cyberton at the back left. Another company sells them in the USA is ‘Hard Hero’ and they look nasty, though they aren’t cheap. They have no detail and look like the Generation 1 cartoons. But its horses for courses.
First row from left to right
Galvatron, Optimus Prime, Megatron, Ultra Magnus and Rodimus Prime
Second row from left to right
Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee, Cliffjumper and Megatron (limited edition – scanning version)
Backrow
Optimus Prime on Cyberton (although not clear, this Optimus is based on a rescue vehicle, rather than the cab over Prime Mover on Earth), Wall plaque of Optimus Prime and Megatron. (As stated earlier, you can combine this to what I have done. I actually had to order this from a Comic book store and they had to import Megatron specially for me. A lot of places sold out)
http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/5137/p1000556.j pg (http://img193.imageshack.us/my.php?image=p1000556 .jpg)
So there you go. I’ve just ordered from the USA an Ultra Magnus and Jetfire bust. Total including shipping was $210. If I bought them in AUS, if they ever make it here, it would be around $150 each now….
