We are tooling new bits for this car and it should be in manufacture in late January for mid Feb delivery.
The tobacco decal sheet did NOT come with the model from us..
There was someone advertising them on the website a while back and I think the thread on the Forum is still there if you want to scan back through.

Hi Eliot Meadows - the guy I am buying the car from is including the decal sheet, so he must have bought it from someone like admin mentioned. I will post some pics once I get the car and the decals on :)
Thanks for the info admin! Bring on Feb :D another Bathurst Winner to add to the ever growing collection.....

Does anyone know the whereabouts of the real 1991 Bathurst winner ?
I read that the car was both the ATCC winner and Bathurst winner and was sold by Fred Gibson to a wealthy driver in Thailand, and that only the 1992 car was retained by Gibson Motorsport.
After 1992, there were few countries remaining that endorced the Group A formula in it's original form.

the_goldie, here are some pics that I took of one of my Winfield GT-R's with decals. Apologies for the poor quality but resizing them smaller to attach to this forum has taken its toll, and I don't have the requisite skill to smooth the lines.
Anyway, be careful before you put the decals on as the set I bought were slightly too large to fit perfectly on the sides of the doors and on the rear (hence no rear shots as I have to try to reattach that decal after cutting it down even more, and apply it with a fixing agent).
The other thing to look at is to see whether the red of the backing of the decal and the red of the car are exactly the same shade. The decals I got were not, so you can see the differences if you look closely. The photos may or may not bring this out. My advice is to cut around the top of each letter if possible - it eliminates some of the slight clash of colour if the two shades of red aren't perfectly matched. I think I got a slightly substandard set of decals for mine. Thankfully I have two more Winfield GT-Rs that I will leave well alone.
Good luck.
If you need some reference pictures of the Winfield GT-R (1:1), I have quite a few that I used that helped me when I put the decals on mine. Let me know and I'll email them to you.
See picture in next response..the others did not come through clearly...Admin

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the info, I should get this model before the end of the week so I will have a look at the decal sheet on the weekend.
Could you email me some pics of your model and the 1:1 version of the car please. You can email them to the_goldie@optusnet.com.au
Thanks again.
ps. looks great with the decals on :D

Andrew,
I would remove those decals and get a set of the waterslide ones. The decal film is clear so you dont have to worry about colour clash with the two shades of red.
You have to be a bit careful not to scratch them off when handling but they are a lot better.

I have a feeling that the real GT-R (could be #2 - I'm not sure) is in the Fox (trucking man Linsey Fox) car collection at the Melbourne Docklands.
The collection oftern opens the garage for public viewing a couple of times a year & the money goes to RCH etc....., - not sure when it will be open next.
If anyone ever gets the chance it's well worth it, as he also has a F40, XJR220, a few Merc guldwings, 959 & many other high performance & classic motor cars.
cheers.

Troy, the decals I used were water ones, and they did slide off the backing. Yet the background was red, not clear. If I could find a set of clear-backed decals I would think about it, for sure, but at the moment, I am too disappointed to try again.
Still, you can't tell from a distance on my car, and from there the Winfield decals look good. Make sure the decals you do buy are good ones.

i had my decals done by a signcompany in plastic lettering and the result is exelent ,no shading etc to worry about and very economical.

I haven't heard that one FF, what sort of cost was involved?
does this car come with all the decals and where did u order t from discus guy?
Andrew

Nick, the '91 Bathurst winning GT-R will come with ALL the decals as it wasn't sponsored by a tobacco company. Only the '92 Bathurst winning GT-R is affected.

I wonder if we stand any chance of getting a factory 32 GTR made as well as a R33,since I have never seen a 1:18 scale of either of these cars in factory state.

The signwritter does all my work and the cost was nil ,but even if I would have had to pay for it it woulod be not a great deal at all
guess?? $5.oo or there abouts even less if you had a couple done and gave sold them on to other collectors
Same deal with the Camel/winfield/Marlboro signs.
You measure the overall dimensions and the Lettertype and Hey presto!! They can be done in real thin plastic lettering and the end result is outstanding in my book.Putting them on correctly takes a little trick to do it right every time.

Approx $5 Ferrari fan! Damn, I got ripped then. I paid $20 for a sheet of complete rubbish. If they were clear backed, then hey, i could have lived with my purchase, but as they were the only Winfield decals I had seen, with red backing, I thought they were the bee's knees, as it were. I think FF has the right idea...
BrendanS, I too have wondered about a factory R32 and R33. I have emailed Biante, but they can't act as it is a foreign (Japanese car). I emailed AutoArt in a long and passionate, yet quite reasoned correspondence, (they make the R34, you'll be aware), and didn't get a response. So, there is a nil possibility as it stands now. I know, I desperately want a factory Australian delivered R32 in 1:18. Complete with different tailights, roof mounted aerial etc. But it ain't gonna happen anytime that I can see.
But the list is endless. An R32 GT-R, an R32 GT-R V-spec, an R32 GT-R V-spec II, and R32 GT-R Nismo, an R33 GT-R, and R33 GT-R V-spec, a Nismo 400R..... There are so many possibilities. :(

Hi Andrew,
Where did you purchase your decals from? I think the ones I got with my model are from pattos place...
Still have not put my decals on yet...might try on the weekend.
ps You Love your nissans don't you ;)
Andrew
20-12-2002, 11:49 AM
Cameron, I certainly do love my Nissans as much as everyone else on these forums love their Fords and Holdens (or Valiants or whatever). They may largely be spurned here in Australia due to their Japanese origins, but it doesn't make it any less a brilliant motor car, and I think at least it has earnt the grudging respect of V8 affectionados.
I got my decals from my local diecast model shop, although he didn't reveal where he sourced them from - just some 'guy' who made them up. I won't make the same mistake again, unless I find a better clear-backed set that is.... ;)
Am very much looking forward to seeing your completed masterpiece. Email me with photos when its done, if you can.
And I am very eagerly awaiting the release of the '91 Bathurst Winner. At least none of us will have to muck around with decals to make the car truly authentic.

To all that wanted to know you can still order the 91 bathurst winner from Games World in Knox City, Wantirna South in Victoria
Andrew

Well, you should be able to. The '91 Bathurst Winner hasn't been released yet!
I was talking to a guy at the Skyline museum in Japan. They were planning to do a 1/18 R33 GTR, but at the end the demand wasn't high enough. The R33 wasn't that popular there..... However he told me that a 1/18 R32 GTR (street) will be made by Kyosho in the future.

Thanks mic, I've been waiting for news like that for a long time now. At least a new 1:18 R32 GT-R should be made up to Kyosho's current standards (think their Lamborghini's and Ferrari's - very nice).

I just had a look at the foto, and with all respect that decal on the door looks awfull, it is to BIG for a start ,maybe that is the correct decal size one for the front bonnet and it just does not look righton the door.
The signshop decalroute is easy and if half done a correct outcome one. also you do not break any law as long as you have it in private surroundings. Have a look at an actual foto of the real car and then just measure it out and scale it, it sounds complex but it is as easy as falling of a bike. Good Luck. and I am sorry re. the fotochappie 's model comment but it is easy to rectify and have a good ,realistic model. It is a pity I cannot seem to be able to list a pic on this forum to show you what mine looks like so one can see what I deem to be correct.
Maybe some one can get a actual shot of the car as rtaced on the net or a link to a shot to help.
sorry to bring up such an old topic, but im posting about the whereabouts of the '92 bathurst winner.
just got back from picking my dads new car up from lindsey foxes garage and saw the skyline.
looked awesome:D :D
p.s any news on when the 91 skyline will be out??

Speaking of Bathurst Winners
I wonder when we are going to see the 1996 Commodore of Lowndes & Murphy.
Late 2003 I hope
Grubby
Good call Grubby
This would look great next to the Brock/Mezera VR.
does anyone know if the 1991 Nissan Skyline Bathurst Winner is going to be limited to the same numbers as the 1992 model?
