Hi All,

Just to let all you Ford nuts out there know about what is happening next June in the US. Next June 2003, Ford is holding their 100th Anniversary in Dearborn Michigan and history will be made! Not only is Ford expecting over 10,000 cars to attend, but yours truly and a number of XA-XC Coupe owners mainly based in the US will be driving in a 'power tour' across the US to attend in genuine Aussie Falcon Coupes!!

Sure, lots of Aussies attend car shows over in the US, but when was the last time you saw 30 XA and XB Coupes, Cobras and a ZH Fairlane Marquis! roll up in convoy to the biggest Ford car show in history at the home of Ford!!

Some of you may recall New York Cop Mark Scarselli's XBGT in Street Machine. Well there are over 50 Coupes now based over there. A number of Aussies here have been helping them over the years and will be attending with them. I will be driving another of Mark's XB Coupes to the Event.

But that's not all....... I have had numerous discussion with Ford Aust and recently met with them. All I can say at this stage is that they are fully supporting us [we even met with Geoff Polites!!] and they are going to have some huge surprises for the Event. You can expect to see lots of Media coverage very soon, including articles in Street Machine, Aust Muscle Car and Unique Cars. I will be interviewed on Melbourne Radio station ABC 774 shortly before the Event. It will be sensational and a huge blast for Ford Australia and Australians in general.

If you can get over to Dearborn next June 12-16, you will see us roll in with a few surprise Aussie Cars including the first replica of a genuine and famous Aussie Racing Coupe!! If you need any more info, let me know on hot351@ihug.com.au Trevor and Bev, you should come!

Regards

Hot 351,

Thanks for the info.

It sounds magic.

Keep this thread up to date with the latest info and pictures, when available.

This would be greatly appreciated by the Australians who can't make it to Dearborn.

I recall the Australian "75" event, so the Dearborn "100" should be a hoot.

Would be nice if Geoff lent HOT351 and the boys a couple of BA XR8 utes in which to haul around the mandatory Eskies, and perhaps a few spare parts, etc.

Hot, have a ball. I wish I was going. I made a trip across to Ford Mecca back in 98 and also got to Cleveland. I can think of nothing better driving across I90 in a GT coupe.

Bernoo, yeah we had our hotel booked but because of work commitments I cannot attend. The GT club has got 1/2 the track close on Sunday and at the cost of 80 bucks you will be able to go down conrod.

Have ony of you guy seen the book about this ? I was in a book store just before chrissy & there was a book called 'Ford, 100 years'. This was a good book for Ford people, however on the only 2 pages about the Falcon, there was a picture of the cureent Falcon. The only problem was that it was a picture of the EL model (released between 1996 & August 1998) !!!
cheers.

Ford anniversary's?????????
Maybe if Ford can find the XA Allan Moffat won Bathurst 73 in,then they can celebrate Moffat's 30th anniversary since he won in 1973 by Moffat driving the original car round the track at Bathurst 2003?
