This event is a new event for the ARC guys, using solely tarmac. They also have been running the normal tarmac guys as well over the same course. This has thrown up a very interesting result if you combine all classes.

Not only has Neal Bates won both heats (1 per day) but if you combine all classes, he has outclassed even the normally unbeatable tarmac boys.

Here is the official website

Now come on Biante, how about a Toyota Corolla S2000? (hey there is no tongue-in-cheek smiley)

Pretty stupid way of publishing the results by saying that Longhurst and Vandenburg were equal first in "modern class" given they each one a "leg" ... Jamie Vandenburg quite rightly beat Longhurst on the road by a total of about 25 seconds !!! ... ... Bit of a misguided quote by Longhurst - “To win my first tarmac rally is a really special feeling – it’s been a long time coming,” ... Vandenburg should be given the accolades and sorry Tony - you came second !!

Yep very interesting to see the toyota S2000's speed vs the tarmac modern class ... mind you it was really only Bates and Evans that had everyone else's number.

:p ... No problem with Tony - He's obviously a good steerer - I just reckon the results reporting is a bit cocked up ....
