Hi,
I'm very new to this whole model collecting thing and I'm looking for one model in particular. The 1979 Marlboro HDT Brock A9X. Preferably in 1:18. Has this particular vehicle ever been made, if so, who by and how long ago.
A guy that works in a nearby hobby shop, who admits to knowing little about these models, says it may not be able to be reproduced because of the whole "no smoking" advertising thing. Is this true??
Cheers

This model, along with about 6 others, (LH,VC, VH etc) will be made, but with Marlboro printing deleted.

Bianti will be making this car in 1/18 sometime in the future,
but it will not have the words Marlboro any where on the car.

I can't wait to see the Marlboro A9X in 1:18 even if it's without the tobacco signage, I'm sure there will be plenty of decals made elsewhere just like the Winfield Nissan.
Bring on all them Great Brock Marlboro cars!!!!!!!!!!!
:D
Saw a Brock/Richards 1979 winner in 1/43 by Dinkim at Sherrifs mini cars WITH Marlboro stickers for $275.
I'd wait for Biantes one and get Marlboro decals myself.

What sort of decals are these? Are they the water transfer type or self adhesive, or what?

if biante cant supply the decals on or off the car, the best method would be vinyl lettering.
if you stuff them up or they somehow get damaged they are easliy replaced unlike the water transfers.
a cousin of mine a signwriter & biante collector also, is hanging out for this model also.
so i'm sure he will be designing/making decals for this models as soon as he can get the correct measurements of the model.

I agree with GRP III that the vinyl letters look best. I put water slide Camel decals on the Moffat Federation XC and they looked terrible so I got a Signwriter to make some vinyl ones and replaced them, now it looks great and they are much easier to put on. I'm sure most signwriters would have the font for Marlboro, Winfield, Camel, etc so give them a try.

As I said in a previous post "This will be One of Australia's most popular Diecast".

GRPIII since biante are usually (always) pretty accurite with their models, couldnt your cousine get the actual size (measure a torana) then scale it down. it would be better than waiting for the model. but put me down for a set if he does them.
this is something like what the model would look like with no Ma****ro decals (wait for the pic)

As drinking Castrol is almost always fatal, shouldn't there be a law against allowing Castrol stickers on that model?

thats possible but just to make sure it would be better to wait.
depending on which of the marlboro cars are released first, like some of the commodores which have malboro on the beaver panel also correct sizes are a must.

Could you imagine the old VH Commodore that Brock ran in '84 without the Marlboro signage on it ???
It would look bright, but also very, very bare !!!
Dam those anti tobacco laws, they just get in the way of a good looking model.
cheers.:D :D

A dam shame, a nice looking race car, but does look very ordinary without the malbro decals. Can't wait for the model, with or without the decals, I just want one.
