Can anybody tell me the cars released in the brock collection and what numbers they are. the reason i ask this is because the Brock/Baird VX model didnt come in a brock collection box and the COA isnt signed (i have been informed as to why the COA isnt signed) and also the COA on all the other models are set out similar but the VX is totally different. but on the site it says its number 7 in the brock collection [A80263]

i have found out these release numbers. please correct me if they are wrong.

#1 LJ GTR XU1 #28c
#2 LJ GTR XU1 #1
#3 LX SS A9X #25
#4 LH SLR 5000 #5
#5 Targa Monaro #05
#6 Commodore VR #05
#7 Commodore VX #05

Also i cant wait for the HT and HG brock cars, Bring 'em on

Chups,
Brock never raced a HG - in fact almost no one did, as the LC Torana became Holden's race car. Only one Monaro (not sure if HT or HG) raced in the 1970 Bathurst 500 but it didn't finish (car 69E driven by D. Sheldon). Bob Jane/John Harvey also entered a Monaro for the 1970 race but it never eventuated.

I have been able to lay eyes on the production model of the HT ,and it is a pearler ,and only 5000 or so made , in a shop near you VERY soon. I bet you cannot not take it home!
Ahh what the hell ,a creditcard is there to be used isn't it.
The Brock HT Holden racingcar ,I presume should be not to far off.

Or what about the Brock class winning VP SS from the 92 or 93 Bathurst 12 hour?

Yogi

In 1969 Brock drove a Monaro 43D , he co drove with Wingham Holden Dealer Being Des West . If memory serves me right it was the first Harry Firth - HDT Assault on Bathurst & they finished third.
Brocky raced a Monaro one more time that was at Oran Park in April 1970

Yogi

Lindsay,
I said that almost nobody raced the HG Monaro. The 1969 Brock/West Monaro (43D) was a HT model, not HG - as was the the Oran Park car you mentioned. The HG was released later in 1970. By that time the LC Torana XU-1 was the favoured Holden race car so Brocky, along with everyone else, switched from the HT Monaro to the LC XU-1. Very few (if any) HGs made it to the race track in series production racing.

Cheers

I cant recall a single HG being used for racing back in 70/71. It was a totally different car the the HT.

I think that the next Brock release should be the '79 A9X.

Thus making a great start for 2003.

I seem to recall that the next one should be the 75 Bathurst winner, L 34 Brock/Sampson. ANDO.

I'm with 7 Litre on that one! but the 75 Bathurst winner could be next after that :D

Either the 78 or 79 Bathurst Winning A9X would be great, one for now and one later down the track.

And don't forget an 84 Twin Set somewhere in between!

I don't care what Brock car comes out as long as it is one of his cars that won Bathurst, after all out of the cars in the Brock collection so far there is only one car (1972 xu-1) that has won Bathurst. Don't get me wrong I like the other cars also but it has been a while since we have seen a Brock Bathurst Winner.

passenger
21-02-2003, 07:01 PM
thats exactly right there is only one brock bathurst winner only 8 to go .

the 1975 , 1987 winners shouldnt be to hard to do , as there is no so called offensive stickers .

as for the other 6 winners i should have enough stickers to cover them .

BRING ON THE BROCK BATHURST WINNERS......:D

Pedro

Passenger Are the offending Marlbo-- water slide decals like the ones you can get for the 92 Nissan GTR or are they stickers. Where do you get 1/18 decals from for the brock cars ?

passenger
22-02-2003, 09:46 AM
Pedro , yes they are water slide decals the same as the nissan winfield decals , the winfield decals i got of him stayed white not see thru like some .

try this site : http://members.optushome.com.au/pattosplace

its a slot car site but he prints a lot of decals and can be ordered in 1/18th just state on order form what scale needed .
go down left hand side index find decals A - Z .

hope this helps :)

speaking of the brock collection, has anyone mentioned brocks road cars?
Could sell them separatly or as twin set, like 87 vl grp a, in road trim & race car.
as for the marlboro decals, speak to a signwriter, they have a special vinyl which is extra thin for ocassions like these.
my cousin whos a sign writer/biante collector himself is already making decals for the release of a9x.

I believe it could be:

Item #103898005?1989 Bathurst Ford Sierra Brock/Rouse
Then
#A87811? '78' Brock HDT A9X.

I hear the Moffat/Hansford/Niedzwiedz '88' ANZ Sierra (#10388009?)could come first then Brock's Sierra and then #100888004? 'Caltex Sierra Bond/Jones then the A9X.

But you all probably already know all this!

The 78 Bathurst winner shown (http://www.biante.com.au/merchandise.cfm?mode=vie w&MerchandiseID=11648) is a hybrid, 79 front guard and bonnet, 78 roof... (see previous discussion http://turing.ibc.com.au/bianteforums/showthread.p hp?s=&postid=18184#post18184)

Does this suggest the 79 winner will follow quickly?

Do all the people who have made M******o stickers have to throw away the middle???

A87805 Brock 78 A9X looks fantastic so far.

Will we get a separate decal sheet included with an "M" & an "o" on it for application after purchase ?

With the huge amount of Brock fans and model collectors alike, this one will certainly be a hot seller.

V8SS

Sneaky trick to leave a few letters off to get round the cigarette advertising laws. Could it have been possible to include the M though? Would have looked just that bit more authentic.

The "78" car shown is actually the 79 car. The 78 car had brock with richards below (on front guard). the 79 car had brock richards in line.
perhaps this will be corrected before release,

Oh Five
With over 7000 photos of the 3 1978 cars and with cars 4 and 76 here, we are quite aware of the correct graphics.
Before I restructured the image it was also parts of car 4 with bits of Harveys 76 on it and the full words on it.
It has been put on for a reason which will be revealed in a week or so, so please have a bit more faith in us than that. Thanks.
By the way, the mechanics, chassis and interior IS the correct 78 car, hence the description used.

Hopefully all scales will be done with that.
Will Biante be sponsering Brocks 2003 red NC Monaro this year like his Targa Monaro in 2002?
Also will Biante make Brocks Red Monaro from the 2003 Bathurst 24hr?
What will the Bathurst 24hr driver line up be in the Red Monaro,
P Brock/Weel/Bright/J Brock,Brock/Perkins/Weel/Bright or even Brock/Weel/Bright/Phil"splitpin"Brock???

Nick I don't have any pics - I'd forgotten the camera - but it appears to be quite a bit lower than a std CV8 & the colour appeared to be a one off but I'm not 'ofay' with the Holden colour range so it could be a regular GMH colour. However it was a metalic light sky blue colour, but looked quite the treat on the Monaro.

cheers - can't wait for another CV8 model.:), I just love that car !!!

Woah! Thats a heluva of power and low down torque you've got yourself there admin. What did you do to the engine? Very Nice!

admin
26-04-2003, 08:34 PM
Yes...from the factory it had 152KW at the wheels, which is above average apparently. So we got a 62% gain.

Monaro Performance Centre who does the Targa cars has got it pretty well worked out. The whole engine, gearing and suspension package turns it into a real world beater, especially for the price.

It's a magic thing to drive!!

Cool car, Admin. The rear 1/4 view is best & I wouldn't have extended the stripes down past the bonnet leading edge, but that's just a personal thing.
I like how you've kept the body standard. Personally, I don't like the HSV mods, they take a beautiful, elegant car & make it brutal, somehow, to my eye anyway. How about a (1/43) model?

Glen Alexander
26-04-2003, 08:48 PM
I like the HSV Coupes, I prefer the GTO to the GTS, not too keen on the silver highlights on the kit. A yellow GTO in GTS specs would suit me just fine. Or I guess I could just colour code the GTS. Who am I kidding, I don't have a lazy hundred odd grand sitting round the house!!!

there is a pic of brocks monaro, posted by oldxr in the brock magazine post. colour is nice but i dont know if its different enough to a standard monaro for me to buy. maby if the interior and engine are different enough ill consider it but theres alot more rellevent models i want to get.

nick
27-04-2003, 03:22 PM
And also brchi17, the 235kw of your SV8 is measured at the flywheel, whilst Biante measured their Monaro at the wheels. (Sorry if this is wrong, but im pretty sure)
This means that Biantes car would probably have well over 300kw at the flywheel.
(Sorry if you already know this brchi17, im not trying to say you don't know your cars, I'm just saying for the people that aren't familiar with this, that Biante's car has alot more power than your average monaro)
As brchi17 asked, what sort of times does the car run?

nick
27-04-2003, 03:28 PM
And what about the torque!!
Admins cars has 5Nm short of a Lambo Murcielago!!!
And the Monaro reaches its max at 2000rpm while the Lambo has to wait till 5400rpm.
Very impressive!!!
How much was spent on the car admin?

brchi17
27-04-2003, 03:28 PM
No offence taken Nick.:)

My reference (to the SV8's 235kw) was more out of respect for just how fast this special CV8 must be.

I wouldn't have a clue what 235kw equates to at the rear wheels, but I do know that it's very impressive & admin's super CV8 must be really, really quick with the sort of power they are quoting at the rear wheels.

One would expect this thing to be up with at least 911's if not the 360 Ferrari with that sort of power.

Provided they are able to get all of this power to the ground !!!

cheers.:D

Peter Brock has cast doubt tonight on a return to the Targa Tasmania event he has contested for the past three years, saying he had "plenty of other things on" after finishing in a barnstorming sixth place.
Brock, who suffered a 5min22sec penalty on day 2 of the event when his Monaro ran out of fuel during a stage, was 6.34 behind eventual winner and good mate Jim Richards in a Porsche GT3. Without the penalty, Brock would have finished third, just two seconds behind second-placegetter Steve Glenney.
"I don't want to dwell too much on what's past," Brock said tonight. "The fact is, we incurred that penalty and we have had to live with it. The car has shown good speed since and I've enjoyed enormously contesting the event, but I'm not sure if it's time to look at other things in my life that are important to me."
Aside from driving in Targa Tasmania, Brock has secured a regular drive in a modified Monaro in the prestigious Nations Cup series, has managerial commitments with his V8 Supercar team, Team Brock, and has flagged an interest in racing in the Bathurst 24-Hour Race this year. He is also heavily involved in numerous charities.
"We've done this event three times now, and it's been a huge thrill every time, but I'm not sure if it's time to step aside. James (Brock, son) might be the one to take over, it's about his time now, I reckon."

Gee, I hope he can find the time (and the passion) to continue competing in Targa. He is a great draw card for the event & is a terrific ambassador for Holden. I never miss the opportunity to catch him flying around my backyard :D

Does anybody know what the next release in the Brock collection will be? I have heard rumours that it might be the 1969 Monaro.

2 cars that I would like to see is the 1987 VL Commodore (no ciggie advertising on this one - so makes it easy in that regard) and the 1975 L34 Torana.

Can't wait for the A9X cars! They look fantastic. Anymore news on the decal front regarding the ciggarette advertising??? I just put winfield decals on the Nissan and this car looks 110% better with them on - what a difference it looks in full race livery :D

I literally have just sat down after making a payment off my current lay by with my local Biante distributor, & he has started taking orders for the '03 Brock/Gigney Targa Tasmania Monaro.

He gave me no indication of any other 1/18 Brock Collection models he is taking orders on (when he gets an order form from Biante, he starts taking orders from customers).

So my bet is the 03 Targa Monaro for the 1/18's, or possibly the '69 HT (a 'rebadge' of Bond's Bathurst winner).

Pics of the Brock targa car was put in the prototype section about 4 weeks ago & was discussed in previous threads (I think it could have been the new model showroom thread).

The HT has also been mentioned, but i can't remember when, might pay to do a search of previous threads.

cheers. :)

you would assume that the next Brock model out would be the 1978 A9X what a fantastic car.
Or the 1997 VS HRT Commodore one of HRT's best colour schemes
Both are in production planned but I will take any of Brockies history making cars:D

The Brock Collection

It is always interesting trying to guess / wok out what is going to be next.

The targa car should be close and I would like to see the 97 commodore after that.

Time will tell. Whatever it is they will all be great models.

I've just been browsing through the list of upcoming models at Darceys Model Cars, and I notice the following entry listed under Biante 1'18's....

M/Cc103 898005 FORD SIERRA BATHURST 1989, BROCK/ROUSE 'MOBIL', Due August 2003

First I've heard of this model. It's not listed on the Biante website.

Anyone know any more?

It is on the Brock Collection under FAQs. THat is as far as I know about it. This will be a nice looking model considering the SIerras look pretty good. I have heard the next one in the Brock Collection is the 69 Monaro, although will gladly get the Sierra if that came first :)

Have noticed in the latest issue of AMC there is an advert for the Brock 69 Monaro. The model looks very good and will definately look very good next to Bond/Roberts Monaro.

I have put in an order for the 69 HT Monaro last week and have been told it should be out some time in August, so Im willing to bet this should be the next Brock car.
And Cracker I totally agree with how good it will look next to the Bond/Roberts car, it looks soooo much better in the flesh than on the website

If the Brock 03 AGP Monaro,03 NC Monaro are getting made then the 2003 Bathurst 24hr Brock Monaro will get made also.
So 3 2003 Brock NC Monaros will get made, along with Targa Monaro,Atlantis Blue Monaro road car and 1969 Bathurst HT Monaro.
Will the Brock NC Monaros,2003 Targa Monaro,Atlantis Blue road cars and 1969 HDT Bathurst HT Monaros all get made as Biante Minicars?

Cracker, Yes the 97 Brock/Skaife car was a beauty.

I have got a 1:43 but would dearly love a 1:18

Then again I will get just about anything Brock related.

You are right and I too would love to see some more of the Bathurst winners. I have a framed/autographed photo showing all nine victories and would love to set-up 9 1:18 around it.

Grubby,
I have a print that was produced in 1995 that has all nine winners on it. The artist is Greg McNeill and is a limited edition of 750 signed by the artist and Brocky is that the same picture you have?

I have the 97 Brock car in 1:43 and also a photo of Brock in the 97 car. Great livery and can't wait for the Bathurst car or any of Brocks Bathurst winners :D

Totally agree that any car Brock raced in would look great in any Holden/Brock fans cabinet!

The sierra should look great. Is it from 1989(DNF) or 1990(4th)?

Pedro,

That's the print I've got, and when I got it back in 95, I never thought how significant having print 97/500 really was...

Grubby,

Which version have you got...I saw this series about 5 years ago at Sandown, and they had the 05 cars for 83 and 87...I pointed out that in fact the winning cars were 25 and 10 for these years, and the next year the series of photo's had changed...Must have had a few complaints...

I just bought my brock 2004 targa monaro, and it looks awesome, but my question to collectors of the brock collection, where to put it? i have my brock collection in chronological order (is that by date?) but the 04 car looks extremely out of place as it is not next to the other black car, and it looks so good next to the black bathurst car. so id like to hear how others have arranged it?

I don't know if I'm really one to comment as I'm not currently in a position to display any of my models (not yet anyway) but I'll put my 2 cents worth anyway!

I too have just bought the 04 Targa car and liked it so much I just had to go and get the previous two red ones! While I agree it would look good next to the 02 Bathurst car, in the imaginary display cabinet in my mind it would have to be displayed with the other Targa cars, and I would have the touring cars separately in date order.

Like I said, just my thoughts

In my cabinet I can only fit 4 cars diagonally across each shelf but I put the 02 car on the left, then the 03, followed by the 04 and then the 02 bathurst car and they look fantastic together.

My other Brock cars are all mixed in with other Bathurst cars but I have a shelf that holds the few ATCC cars I have and on here I have Baird Team Brock car, Bright Team Brock car, 02 Monaro, 03 Monaro and then the 04 Monaro. They look great all lined up.
