Just picked up my parcel of Minichamps 1/18 models .
To say that they are again stunning is an understatement
The Jordan 191 in which M.Schumacher had his first taste of F1 is absolute sensational! and a must in every collectors showcase.
Minardi 1/18 Webber?? Yes please!! hopefully!
and the Jaguars (Webber) to be made by Minichamps?! Yes Please!
Now the waiting is on for the McLarens of Alesi test and the Big one M23 Villeneuve (Gilles) Yes Please!
Christmas in middle of Jan (maybe Chinese) happened again:D

P.S. I figured it ::;; Ferrari back with Minichamps, the company that should have been allowed to build all there models
The Jordan 191 must for sure proof the case!
Barbiebuckets could not produce something as beautifull as this model.
Could it be possible to put a pic on this forum or on the frontpage
It is a FORD Cosworth powered car afterall
M Schumacher also was the last Worldchampion in a FORD power F1 racecar

As far as I know , It is the forst time that the commemorative 1/18 (and 1/43) American Grand Prix is available in retail.
This model is made with the Mould of the ferrari F300 testcar
Mat Black
So far ,we collectors had to import the previous models before.
There is the 2000 car in 2 liveries the 2001 ,the 2002 and the Canadian GP car to form a full set of brought out models.
There was a plan the do the Australian GP as wel but did did not eventuate:( At the moment there seems to be not a lot of interest in these models ,but believe me this will all of a sudden change and because of the limited editions it will be hard to get for the people that do want them in the future.
I did display the ones that were out at the last expo and for a lot of collectors this was the first time that they saw them in real

ferrari fan,
Is that the real thing model? Fully red,no sponsors and black nose cone?
A HotWheels (oh well) model? If it is....I've been nagging the absolute crap out of my model shop for the last year wishing that they would make it!
I need to boost my MS Ferrari collection here and now!:D

From what I can make out of your typing ;
You are talking about the "Monzacar, sept 11 2001 respect car"
This has never been made commercialy but I have and together with a lot of other collectors, this variation.as it is easy to do.
get 2001 model take all logo's off paint nose matt black get little ferrari shield decal and a #1 shaded correctly and Hey presto an acceptable model is there.
The Black test car ,I refer to is an earlier real test car made By Minichamps and is completely Black to reflect the car as it ran on Fiorano in unpainted Carbon Fibre this model by Minichamps came out in 1/18 #510981800 L.E. 6500ex and 1/43 #510984300 L.E. 12222 ex
These same cars have been used to manufacture the commemorative event cars mentioned above.
and were imported into Australia by Biante at the time 1998.
As all Minichamps models are .Biante is the official Minichamps dealer for australia

FF the event cars are as follows,

2000
USGP - 2 versions in 1/43rd
USGP - 3 Versions in 1/18th (1 in gold leaf)
USGP - 1 Version in 1/64th

2001
AGP - 1 Version in 1/43rd

USGP - 2 Version in 1/43rd (Corporate edition with special sap logo's on car only about 100 of the saps cars converted)
USGP - 1 Version in 1/18th

BGP - 1 Version in 1/43rd

2002

AGP - No official event car "Big Mistake" (Kimi first points is seen as quasy event car)
USGP - 1 version in 1/43rd
USGP - I version in 1/18th

Canadian GP - 2 Version in 1/43rd (Honda corporate edition with Honda logos on car, 150 converted cars issued at track)
Canadian GP - 1 Version in 1/18th (Errors on box outersleeve were printed with master of 1/43rd and had to have a sticker placed over the error all 1/18th boxes say 1/43rd.

I have them all with the exception of the gold 2000 USGP 1/18th, they come up every now and again so this year it will come my way I hope. It would be nice if Biante could exert some pressure on Action / Minichamps to insure that we get an event car each year and instead of doing and odd number as they did in 2001 stick to the year as a guide for numbers released it means more to collectors and will ensure that there are not 1000 cars still to sell 12 months later.

One set of models in 1/43that could be seen as also GP event cars are the Quantas 97 Australian G.P. series.
Besides or before these were the limited editions of the importers of the 95 Benetton schumacher cars with a naming in the front of the modelT2M FrenchKAGER ,german,Amerang,UK,BianteAustralian,RIPA Italy , etc and a L.E. of 1995
Another car that can been seen as a commemorative car is the Arrows front wing and the Towerwing Imola issues as these were only in that configuration at that particular time and place, but then the floodgates open if we go down this road
This is a great way of collecting and having a theme

Good point the Qantas cars whilst not technically event cars were ment to be a special collectors set for the AGP, what a stuff up that was. I still need a Schu and the other most elusive brundell to complete my set but I do not want to take out a second mortgage for the two cars.

Event cars are not always up to us..the team decides if it wants one etc etc.
Being the first GP, we have to use last years car and some teams do not want that.
The first RACE cars made this year will be cars as run at Melbourne AGP 2003...thats as good as we can do for you.

I bought most of mine (except the two ferrari's and the Jordan(I have) at a local Target store (Vic Park) for would you believe $19.95 each  Luckaly at the time I did want them as they were Minichamps 1/43 and at that price I bought whatever was left on the shelf :D not knowing what we all know now!

The 2001 AGP event car is not a team oriented car, why do we not have a tue AGP event car such as the USGP event cars the only one to back up three years in a row.

It seems the event cars are very inconsistent, BGP was only one year (2001). Does Action / Minichamps include these types of cars in the release lists at the start of the year, are we going to have more tha just the USGP event car this year.

Same here FF. I don't normally buy F1 models (only Brabham and Jones cars) but at $19.95 for a minichamps model the offer was to good to pass up. Just goes to show you can get lucky sometimes.

Mine are packed away somewhere so I can't check the box to see if a quantity produced is stated. Do you know how many of each were made?

P.S.
I was just thinking to be sold in a discount department store around Australia and then to be on the 'Sale' table there must of been many many thousands made?

Aussiecollector

I believe it was 1000 of each and even less of the Jordan. It was only due to the sale restrictions at the track that they ended up at Target.

Looks like Jaguar is also going to be produced by Minichamps.
The McLarens that are going to run in Melbourne are like the Ferrari essentialy the 2002 cars and only at the euro rounds are the new ones coming out from what I am understanding.
The Quantas numbers are 1000 of each and the Jordan was NOT for sale, but a present in one of the corporate sponsors boxes
Heward Packard aprox 500 is being mooted and a good many are laying in dusty draws of Mathematicians and corporate guest that were there and do not have ANY idea of what it means to us collectors.
So far I have resqued 2 :D from the drawer syndrome
I do know of another two that are with an other collector

Thanx for the info FF....I was hoping that it was a commercially available one,as I'm sure it would be one to remember.
I did buy the Fiorano test cars in 1:43 and 1:18 when they came out ,as well as the "tower wing" and 1997 Qantas Ferrari.

I'll just have to wait a little longer if ever they do make it.

We actually organised this deal for a "major" distributor.
There was 1008 of each car with the exception of the Jordan, which was 504 models. They came in cartons of 72 cars, hence the odd number.
The Ferrari of Schumacher was a combination of high and low nose cars , with and without side pod aerials and for this reason the barcode/description was a sticker.
The Jordan had no barcode or description.
I have one of each of the seven types, plus the 4 different Ferrari of Schumacher and 3 Jordans (the extras...I gave one to a good friend)
No reflection on the organisation concerned, but the people who organised this deal couldn't sell a fire to an eskimo, and so there was a lot dumped in department stores contrary to the agreement.
This was also the last time Biante ever did business with a so called 'Major" as the whole mess ended up in court.

Sad to hear that it ended up sour.
They are great momento's and did set a trend
I also do have a 1/24 Ferrari F 50? in a Melbourne Quantas logo box with a sticker on the roof ,Never seen anywhere before
Looks like a BBurago or Maisto quality
Brumm also did Quiet a few 1/43 models for the OzGP and came out in special packages
Keep up the great work
regards

Admin,
Are Minichamps released a the 2002 Bathurst 24 hour Cirtek Porsche?
If not, will Biante get Minichamps to make Cirtek Porsche models for Biante?
The Cirtek Porsche would go great beside the Monaro,1/18 or 1/43.
