"Ford is ready to launch a new multi-million dollar V8 Supercar team in the hope of ending Holden's domination of the series this year.

Motorsport News magazine is adding its wieght to the V8X.com.au report of 23 December that Ford will tackle the 2003 season with the three-car team headed by Craig Lowndes, David Besnard and Glenn Seton.

Another big boost to the team is the involvement of Prodrive boss David Richards who has considerable pedigree in international motorsport. He is the driving force behind Formula One team British American Racing (BAR) and the Subaru World Rally Team.

Lowndes and Seton will spearhead the team in the new Falcon BA 'Barras' with Besnard to drive the upgraded Falcon AU that Seton raced last year.

The team is expected to debut at the non-championship round at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne in March."

Now the Million doller question is who will make the models ??? Seton has genrally been sponsored by CC, But Lownes is sponsored by Biante, So who will make the models for this new super team, will it be like DJR where both compaines make the models ??? Maybee Admin can shed some light or gossip ??

Can't wait to see the paint schemes on the teams..........I certainly hope that a model is done of the BA Test Car that Johnson drove around Bathurst.....sensational......

Also Lowndes' car should look even meaner if he keeps the 'green eyed monster' thing going.

YEEEEE HHAAAAAARRRRRR!!!

Go get 'em Ford:p

I think the Johnson BA test car will be the first BA racecar released.

If it was Ford money at OO and it had the black and silver paint job and that money has now gone to Prodive of which they are saying the seton car will have Ford credit support is it not feesable that the lowndes car will have a similar scheme as this year given that the maoney that paid for it at 00 is now at Prodive. Maybe the T car was a sly way of showing us what fords intentions are for the Superteam, either way it should look good and given that Rusty's New years promo shots show a very good looking car in great colours Iam sure that Ford HQ / Prodrive will pull out all stops to launch a very memorable car especially in front of the worlds motor writing press for the AGP in Melbourne.

And if the rumors of a Green HRT car are right for 2003 the starting grid and my cabinet is going to look very interesting to say the least. Bring on Melbourne.

I've read (elsewere) that there should be some sort of Prodrive/GSR/Lowdnes announcement later this week.

I just hope we get some actuall V8 news soon as it seems to be a long time since we actually had some real news from any of the race teams.

12 weeks without the V8's is simple tooo long to handle - roll on the AGP !!!!!

cheers

I doubt we will see green HRT cars. The flagship colour for Holden is red, so we will be seeing a predominantly red car again I'd imagine.

HRT cars are typically red and white.
Maybe HRT's car will be Red and have Green instead of white.
The Green on the HRT cars probably would be HSV racing green.
I also saw the HSV race relations billboard at Sydney airport today.

HRT's colour doesn't have to be red. From 1990-'94 they were white/black, and 1995-'97 they were white/navy in various patterns. (Sorry- off topic!).

That was in the past, I believe they are using red as they're colour now. I heard it somewhere on this forum actually. Everything to do with Holden, advertising, signage, logos etc is in red you'll notice. I can almost guarantee a red based livery.

On the topic of colours, is it just me or does the new paint for this team look alot like HRT of a few years ago?

It does a bit, but damn it looks good! But then the 99 HRT paint scheme is one of the best paint schemes they have had.

I think the paint scheme on the new Team Dynamik looks great.

Lets hope that Biante get the go ahead to do this car in 2003.
