Had a quick scan of the forums to see if any threads have been started but anyway, is anybody else getting this message when attempting to view the BSS??
Damage, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.Or have I been blacklisted from the BSS area?
EDIT: And no, I have NEVER offered a Red Dust or 60th car for sale on there...

I think they're still working on it. By the looks of the things it'll be username access - im assuming that'll be linked to forum username? It may also be part of the forum? or maybe access via the website only but with forum username?
Anyway - what you are getting is common problem. Hopefully by end of next week the might have something?

If thats the case then a big pat on the back, thats a great idea. Will help to stop/reduce spammers, sellers and buyers alike will be a bit less anonymous and hopefully they can incorporate a "time-posted" so we can see how old the ads are.
Awesome work anyway.

This is a problem as new users sign up to spam.
They get blocked but new ones come along, it's always a problem on the net and Biante do there best to clean it up, so thatswhy I feel there just running some tests.
And why not ask why a post got deleted, or what's the go with b/s/s as there is a lot going on I feel, as your post did sound like a negative, which inturn brings negative replys.
Looking forward to using the b/s/s forum myself, feels it's not that far away for us :)

Because the BSS system does not run on club ID's and besides, not everyone HAS club ID's. Incorporating it into the forum will make it easier to navigate, reduce spammers, easier to moderate, and you'll be dealing with a forum member and that will make it easier to have confidence in the people you are dealing with.
Settle for a bit, it'll be back up in the next few days.

Two issues with this that I hope have been thought out...
1. There is no advertising on the forum (in all the rules), won't this be advertising:p
2. I hope this doesn't push our already overworked and "unpaid" forum moderators to the brink...
If this has been dealt with adequately, then I think it is a good move. We'll find out soon enough!

Perhaps Biante consider "recruiting" trustworthy members to moderate the B/S/S to help take the work load off Brad and Wayne, as I'm sure the main forum is a big enough job for them as it is. Or some of Biante's staff could do it....

Oh I dunno Leigh, I know I'm pretty easily excited, I can get a bit toey at the strangest things and at the drop of a hat, a bit like they guys on here that sleep with thier models, just not quite so kinky. Pete's prints and I do have something "special" going on though..

Just had a look at the new Buy, Sawp & Sell Section on the Biante Website. Looks great, it was about time something had to be done. It may take awhile to get up and running, but it will be great if you can see pictures of what people are selling etc, as you know there are a few dodgie people out there sell stuff. Good on the Biante staff on there efforts to retify this situation. It was long over due. Can't wait to see how it goes. :):)

Thinking about the BSS I am wondering what people thoughts are on this question.
Should people who are looking for the same item have their own thread, or should they add their buy/swap/sale to an existing thread?
I can see the merits and downside of both so it would be interesting to read what people thoughts are.

Definetly a seperate thread, otherwise, the newer posting may take the sale and the original thread starters sale is left high and dry.
Its like when you start reading a thread that has x amount of pages, sometimes you only read the last couple, and so the start of it is forgotten about, then it gets off topic, and you get the same old rubbish all over again.
Just my 2 cents worth.

Each sale/wanted should have thier own thread for sure.
An idea though would be "sticky" FS and WTD templates, eg:
Model:
Scale:
Manufacturer:
Driver(s) if racecar:
Colour (if roadcar):
COA#:
Condition:
Price:
Postage:

Agree. And the ebay thread(s) should go over there too...
I also think the ban on posting ebay auctions should be lifted as long as they are posted in the BSS.
Also, the "announcement" at the top of the forum becomes somewhat redundant...afterall the Biante forum now has a BSS.
A good clean-up of the stickies should get them down to 1..."Forum rules" which can include information such as the new members sticky and that advertising will be deleted from this forum and should be posted in the BSS etc
Ideally the "Biante Forum" would be renamed "Model Cars and Motorsport Forum". The name "Biante Forum" was good when there was just one forum, but now there are 3 Public forums (MC&MS, Off Topic and BSS) it isn't a good descriptive title.

Best offer etc works on other forums with buy/sell sections...
Let it run for a while and get feedback before playing with the rules.

With the service Inter supplies anyone can inform themselves of current prices, so the ones who are not putting a price on are kidding themselves.

No. posting a comment in this thread is not posting a report. To post a report you click on the red & white triangle in the top right corner of the post which you have a concern about. You will then be given a box to tell the Moderation Team why you feel that post is a concern/issue.
By doing this it flags items in the Moderation Section for the team, so we can quickly find something which is bothering/concerning members.

Okay, never clicked one.
I'm just saying that it seems a bit odd that posting live links in the new BSS section is okay now, when so much reporting, warnings, deletion of posts, heated debates etc were carried out in the existing eBay threads.
Why would those people who voiced thier opinions so loudly be okay with the practise being taken up again with the only difference being the location of the posts?

It may well be Biantes call and I'm sure those who had the beef with the "live links" issue will take it up directly with them. I mentioned it here for two reasons.
1) I was under the impression that one of the functions of the moderators was to reduce forum related workload on Biante staff and 2) Upon further perusal there is no facility to report a subtitle to a thread.
As already stated here and via PM, I never had any problem with "live links" but I sure that those who did, will see the subtitle in the FS section as a massive step backward after putting so much effort into having links banned. I was also under the inpression that the no live links policy was endorsed by the mods and staff, but as you say, Biantes playground, Biantes rules.

It was discussed ages ago in the eby thread, i know there are people looking for certian cars but when some people have found one that is really low then post it for the world to see, it makes the auction have more watches and more bidders.
I personally would like to see them banned still, if people are going to post stuff in the BSS section it should there only, not on enay also.

Live Ebay links were banned to stop people trying to get around the no advertising rules buy promoting their own auctions without revealing it as their own auction.
Now that we have a BSS section if someone wants to promote their own auction in the then that's fine. No issues here.
