I thought the XYGT's were all finished in road going trim ?
Wasn't the red XY on the wooden based advertised as the last 1:18 XYGT ?
Could admin please correct me on this one as I was under the inpression that only new XY's would be race cars.
cheers.

This will be the last road car model of a GTHO XY, but we will be making some GT's in other colours......thats what we said at the time and that's what is happening.

admin,
this may sound a little naive, but would I be correct in saying the following ?
For an XY Falcon were there an XY Falcon GT, XY Falcon GTHO & XY Falcon GTHO phase 3 ?
Were these 3 different types of Falcon or were there just the GT & GTHO versons ?
Seeing that I was not born until after the last GT was well & truely finished (1976) that may be why my question sound a little simple with regards to the Falcon GT.
cheers.

brchi17...NO. The GTHO was Phase 1 (XW Windsor engine), Phase 2 (XW Cleveland engine) and Phase 3 (XY Cleveland engine)
So in XY's you had GT or GTHO Phase 3.
Visible differences (and here I am talking reduced to model scale ) were about 9 items..main ones being no front or rear spoiler.

Also, the Trax car was wrong. It was [supposedly] True Blue. If it was, then it was wrong as True Blue usually came with Black stripes. Electric Blue came with the gold stripes. The 1:43 Biantes reflect the correct colors.
So either Trax modeled their car of a weird combination - or - they were wrong. I'd suggest the latter.

I have both Biante and Trax, both very good at their different scales. Check out the original specs Hot 351 and you will find True Blue had the option of Gold or Black Stripes.

Adimin is that XY a GTHO or a plain GT in true blue.If it is a GTHO i thought the vermillion fire was last GTHO to be made you stated a while ago.If you are why do a true blue a electric blue or a yellow glow would be more popular.

What would be great would be in the 'Find a model' section if we had the option to search for all of the Australian Biante/Autoart models that were being made in all scales. I tried to do a search on 1:43 scale & found that there were over 60 pages to view. Just a thought, for what already is, a great website.
cheers.

If you type in Australian in the description field then type 1/18 or 1/43 it will only give you the Aussie productions in the respective scales. Hope this helps.

You will find with the stripe option that it followed the interior chosen by the owner....EG: Sadddle trim / gold stripe, Black interior / black stripe......This was the general rule, but not gospel unless specialy chosen by the owner or dealer who might of wanted something to stand out for his show room....And then there was the Day glow orange stripe?

Weren't there quite a few trim options (white being one), or did that only come in with the XA?

I think you'll find that with XYGT's certain colours came with certain stripes. For example
Track Red/Gold stripe
Vermillion Fire/Black stripe
Quicksilver/Orange stripe (reflective)
Bronze Wine/Gold stripe
True Blue/Black stripe etc.
This was usually the case however some cars had a dealer fitted or special order colour stripe combo. The interior colour had nothing to do with it. A very rare combination was Raw Orange with a reflective BLACK stripe!
