im wont down him as a driver but from a fan point of view i always found him very arrogant towards his fans and i wish him well over there as like he openly admitted its not about being able to race its about puttin the guy off in front by nudging them and gettin into the aero to make em spin which he is very good at. then he made me laff he achieved evrything there is here HELLO MARCUS you aint won bathurst oh thats right thats because of that cheating bas**rd murphy puntin him into the wall BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA and now his doin it for real over there. I laffed even more when he said nascar is the the biggest form of racing there is not F1 knows that this post will get picked to bits but its my 2 cents. i did enoy the report as like i said good luck to him over there geez i miss him NOT:p

Depends on what you are measuring to get that conclusion....F1 would have more viewers, pretty sure NASCAR brings in more $$$$

My wife and I thought the same thing until we went to America and watched his first race in Trucks at Martinsville. We actually caught up with him in the carpark as we were in a Mustang and said g'day. As soon as we said that he mentioned that he had seen us in the crowd with the only Aussie Flag which flet great that he noticed. We spoke to him for about 15mins and he signed a few things as well as photos and he mentioned that it was a totally different environment for him as he was almost a nobody at that stage except for an Aussie trying to have a go at NASCAR. We sort of likened it to him being a big fish in a little sea in Aust and then a little fish in a big sea in the US. There was no way that he would do this when he was racing in Australia. This certainly gave us a different outlook on Marcos Ambrose.

As a side note it is amazing how many people walked past us in the crowd and yelled out "Ozzie V8Supercars are great....." The whole NASCAR experience is certainly something that we will be doing again.

That's a great story Motiv8.
I liked the story on TV tonight, he's their starting at the bottom, earning respect as he gets better. looks like his relaxed and enjoying his motor-sport.
Good luck to him and I wish him all the best.
Cheers

would have to agree as NASCAR is more of an institution/business and when we were there, there was at least 70 transporters full of merchandise (there was even 3 Dale Earnhardt merchandise trailers!!! - and he wasnt alive). Then you have approx 5 acres of private sellers with all past memorabilia and associated stuff off to the side of all of the other merchandise. The money that NASCAR would get from licensing alone would be mind-boggling as everything has to be licenced.

I think it was around late 2003 that Marcus tried to push for a ruling in V8 Supercars that if you were following a guy and could'nt get passed that you should be able to push them out of the way....

Only got to watch it at Martinsville a little hick town of 15,000 people normally that grows to over 120,000 on race weekend...... We went and had a look and tour of Daytona and would love to get back there one day to see a race there.
Being a smaller track they were lapping in 19 sec (IIRC), it just about got boring towards the end especially with 43 cars on track. You think that it is confusing to figure out where the drivers are with the supersofts in V8's, try this scenario and throw in the 'lucky dog' move and see how you go!!!!!
