Bob Lutz the GM Vice Chairman of production and development has coped a caining from the public about the NEW GTO / Holden Monaro. From my view, I think the revised front styling on the GTO is pretty ordinary compared to the Monaro's.
Attached is a link to the site including pictures and the American public's comments.

sounds to me like he handled those tossers pretty well.
the biggest problem will be the unions and getting import quotas increased

Terrine,
He did do very well. I'm sure he would have like to had said what he really thought but, being in the position he's in, being diplomatic works very well.

Typical........ what do they expect, a wonder bar radio, maybe a wooden steering wheel or even an 8 ball gear knob? Sounds like these guys had better get some drugs to handle their obvious mid-life crisis.

I think that when any new car is released many people dont take to well to it.

I think once people see a few on the road, it will grow on them.

I wonder how many people were in there just bagging the crap out of it and how many are die hard GTO fans.

I think the GTO/Monaro will sell well in the US, but with the union limits etc how huge will it be?

Strange comment from someone with that signature (half a million in its first year!!)

Yeah I should have mentioned the 22,000 on it's first day but I guess that was a one off. Good to see them still going strong 38 years down the track ;)

I look at most cars say the new BA falcon for example. My first thoughts were "it's ok but nothing special" The car has grown on me, as has the VY commodore. The EA and VN were exactly the same.

I will be honest here as well. I liked the look of the Australian Monaro when I first saw it, what a great looking car. The GTO is another story and some people don't like the initial look of it but I am sure that is going to change.
