Guys, just after an opinion on which of these 2 to get???

Both are made by CMC and both look unreal. I cant decide between either so wanna hear what the masses here think I should do.

I have added a Poll so we can keep a running tally.

Cheers

I have voted for the Maserati but seriously if your planning on getting one why not get both. They are both significant models of their times and both superb examples.

I've voted for Maserati. I think that EXOTO F2 is superior to CMC in terms of accuracy, hence my pick.

From the nature of your vote Q's, I would go with the 250F as it clearly is the race version whereas the 500F2 is a plain jane version. For your championship theme, better get the exoto version (watch out for quality issues) or what until cmc do the race version. Also cmc vs exoto there are scale issues ala Biante vs Classics

ps exoto doing the sharknose

pps have you seen the 55 Le Mans winning type D jag in 1:12 scale....money should go to that I reckon...

I voted for the Maserati. I got to check one out in great detail when I bought my first CMC ('24 Targa Florio winner).

And it will cost you less than your option 3 estimate (even with international postage).

I love you idea of the VK option James, I can see that fitting in well with your themes at home :D lmao !!!

Go the CMC, regardless of which, either are a bloody good choice. I would also present the Sharknose as a 3rd CMC option, as they are a fine example too & considering the history of the real vehicle, it could become quite a conversation piece ;)

I'd get both the Maser & the Ferrari however, if it came to a choice I'd get the Fangio Maserati so thats how I voted.

I've now got 3 exquisite CMC's, (very kindly bought for me by my Wife over 8 months) given to me this week:cool:

I picked the 3rd option;):p

It looks like the Fangio Maserati is leading the race.
I could get both but I really want the CMC Auto Union Hillclimb car with the doubled wheels at the back. It looks fantastic.
I can get them for $305 each including postage so I couldn't say no.

Hey Charger, The D-Type looks fantastic but I want to keep the 1/12's to GT40's only and get more of them.
The Sharknose's look the good but would prefer the ones above over getting one of them.

DECISIONS DECISIONS....

I made up my own mind, although I did not get the Fangio Version.

Thanks Maximus, but honestly, just go with your feelings and buy the one you feel you want more. You won't regret your decision as both are great.

I just realy like the Silver Back on the Ferrari 500 when the cover is removed but dunno if I would bother displaying it like that???

Alright guys, I ended up going for the Fangio Maserati as I think it looks just that little bit better than the Ferrari 500 F2 in the flesh and I also picked up the Auto Union Hill Climb car too.
Got them for a great price.
Just need to buy a cabinet soon and I will call it quits again for a little bit.

If anyone wants a heads up on where to get these from send us a PM as I dunno if I am allowed to put his info on here.

I will also put up pics next week with the BBR 375 I got too.

Cheers

they are very nice pieces James, you won't be disappointed

The F500 is nice, but you really need one for both years as there are some differences between the two, so one is not enough!
