Yes.....but I thought it was a topic worthy of discussion, particularly from anyone who paid full price for the model or anyone who owns or works in model shop that still has these in stock and has now seen them rendered worthless.

I'd reckon the greed of making 12,000 of them is what made them worthless, plus they should have been made in 1/10 scale so it's size would have matched the 1/18's.

Plus I would have thought a nice presentation box would have been the go and not the crap one it comes with, thought at least something like the commodores box would have been the minimum seeing it was where it all 'began' !

WWWHHHHAAATTTTTTTT????? You don't just make them in another scale so they "match"??? the 1/18th's. What next. I know how about we get all the models made the same width, length and height so they can match.

Making 18000 of them is probobly one of the few ways Biante can get their money back on the mould, since it's a one off and really inticate.

And making it in 1:10 would probobly put them even further down the toilet :laugh4:

I hope these cheap as chips prices find their way to NZ, as i really wouldn't mind one :)

Ultimately I think the biggest problem for the Brock 01 was a combination of the volume produced & price for what some perceived to be little more that a slightly bigger 1/43 sized model at a 1/18 price.

Should have been a 1:16 or 1:12 scale

Yeah you're right there, that makes it 3 times more than the average run.....12k, 18k .... far too many.

I first saw it at Sandown and was shocked by the size ..my instant thought was no way I'm paying $195 for that tiny thing.

I ordered another Grp 3 with the free Austin. Reckon its a good deal. See the Austins on ebay for 80-90 bucks so 50-60 bucks for a VK is a bargin.

i think producing 18000 of them was a bit over the top, in addition to the flood of brock vk big bangers it has really taken away the term limited edition, to think you can pay $99.00 at present for the vk big bangers & the austin, then look at the A9X toranas going for $500-$600.00, both the VK'S & the austin were way over produced, looks like classics realised this, 5000 VH'S is a little bit more realistic, sadly the VK is an incredible looking car & would normally be worthy of paying a bit more to get them in years to come, however with 30,000 of them out there dont see that happening.

Just want to see something here so just help my curiosity. Lets see if there was 15000 VK BW's produced and distributed. Remember all of a sudden found Walkies? My VK is in the 5800's.

Ummm, the whole idea of making anything to scale is so the relative differences in size show up. Not much point in having a 1/6 Mini Cooper sitting beside a 1/18 XR Falcon I'd've thought?
I love seeing the comparative differences between all the different cars that used to race against each other, unlike "Formula-All-Alike" these days.

I just got mine as per a couple of posts ago. COA is well under 500 and for what it is, not a bad little model.
