I'm sorry if this has been mentioned before, but I searched for 'Yellow Falcon' and didn't find any hits.
This auction (http://au.page.sold.yahoo.com/au/auction/51178918 5?aucview=0x23) has, what I assume is, a pre-production photo of the Monaro HT GTS (sans stripes). What is the Falcon behind it? Is that an XA?
If there is already a thread on this, please just point me to it.
Thanks!

Yes zeitgeist it is the Yellow Glo XA GT falcon coupe. You can pick the XA Coupe with the indicators in the front of the guard/fender next to the head light, grill is different and headlights.
I think the other colours to be produced are Red pepper and Calipso Green. The air vents towards the front of the bonnet(hood) are different to the XB and XC as well as the balckouts on the bonnet.
I will try and find a web site with some more photo's for you.
if you look to the left hand side of the photo, you will also see the front of the Calipso green car and the small vents in the fender/guard. They were unique to the XA GT as well

mustang1966 -
Thanks for the info. I saw that green panel as well and wondered about that one, too.
Wonderful... more models to buy!

zeitgeist,
Mate tell me about it. I am going to limit myself to one XA GT Coupe and I think it will be the Calipso green car.
I remember about 12 years ago finding one for sale in the suburb I live in. Back then they wanted $18,000 for it and was a little out of my reach. 12 years ago it was quite expensive for the car in question as it had a little dodgy bodywork done to it.
Maybe after the house is built and the Mustang is finished, the Mrs and I will look for an XA GT Coupe to sit in the garage next to the XY and Mustang.
Are you going to the Ford 100 anniversary at Detroit? I think they are going to have some GT Falcon Coupes up there. It's only a few hours from you right?

It's about a 3 1/2-hour drive (assuming I'd drive anywhere NEAR the speed limit). I'd need to convince a friend to go with me.
There is a site dedicated to OZ Falcons in America and they have some great photos from other meetings at Dearborn. I would love to have one of those cars. If they are over 25 years old, we get around a number of registration restrictions.
It would definitely turn some heads.

Yeah I did the drive through Ohio on I90 back in 98 all I can remember is straight flat road and a nice sharp near 90 Deg corner in Cleveland.
The Corn and Soya bean fields were interesting to look at, pretty much the same as Indiana as I remember.
I drove from Boston to Fort Wayne Indiana with an hours sleep in Erie at a gas station.
Never again.
I still kick myself for not doing the return trip via Detroit and into Canada on the way back to Boston.

Ahh yes. I'm aware of that turn. One of the flattest, most straight areas in the state and they put a 90-degree turn on a superhighway.
