I've seen some of these for sale recently and amongst the description is "Note the amber front indicator lenses...production fault."
Can anyone confirm this?

After a quick look I think the seller is mistaken. Not knowing much about the HG I can only go by pictures and those I've seen show the HG has clear front indicator lenses and the pictures of the model also show it as having clear indicator lenses.

All HK/HT/HG Holdens produced for the Australian market featured clear front combined park/indicator light assemblies.

The first of the HQ models in 1971 also featured clear combined units, but later HQ models had amber front indicators with the park function relocated within the headlight assembly.

I suppose it all relates to relative legal requirements of the day; for example, when I visited Thailand in 1974, I noticed that the exported HR and HT/HG Holdens in that country had rear taillight units that featured clear lens covers where amber was the Australian norm, and that the rear indicator lights were incorporated within the red lense stop/tail assembly (as per the U.S.A. standard of those times).

What's his definition of "fault"? (1) Different from the rest of the Monaco Maroons Biante released or (2) different from the actual car?

Unlike the black interior in that one HT I recently saw, ALL the HGs appear to have this "production fault". If he's trying to turn this into some sort of premium, only the uninformed will fall for it.

Either, as you say, he's trying to turn it into a premium or he really thinks the HT has amber front indicator lenses.

Since it is quite possible that the person who has that ad frequents this forum, I should probably clarify my statement.

I'm not saying they were being intentionally dishonest. I'm saying that misinformation about the actual vehicle could make one feel that they were in possession of a valuable model and try to realize that value on the open market. I would certainly feel that way.

A misinformed collector might also think it had more value than another.

If that person is out here, I offer my apologies if I was misunderstood.

I once owned both a HT and a HG Monaro - both had clear lenses. I have a 1:18 Biante HG Monaro in Indy Orange and it has orange indicator lenses. I assume that what the person is referring to as a fault is that the model does not match the original car.

As we are all well aware of now, all the real HK-HT-HG Monaros had clear front indicator/park light lenses.

What I would like to know (Admin) is why did the HT models that Biante released have the correct clear indicators but the HG's came with the amber ones?

How did this happen?
