Can someone give me the details of who I can get in touch with to make me some decals.
I am after water based slide on transfers, not the thicker signwriter type.
thanks guys.

The link posted here by biante3413 shows a website full of decals for most models, it also states that all are available in 1/43rd and 1/18th, they already have HDT full livery sets made up in 1/32 and 1/24th. Each sheet will do about 4-5 cars allowing for errors. Price $32.00

how were biante allowed to put any camel decals on the moffat twin set cars?

Nick,
Biante were only allowed to put on the Camels, not the words Camel Filters.

Damian
is the word camel filters on the front all that is missing or is there more?

Nick,
The actual words "Camel Filters" are missing on the front bumper of both XC's, but the camels are there in the middle of the front bumper. This is all Biante were able to put on due to the issue of tobacco sponsorship on model cars.
I think thats the only location of the Camel filters sponsorship.

No worries Nick,
Unfortunatley, this also happens on the Black XC "Federation Insurance" car No.25 that Moffat drove in 1979 and also the Cobra No.1 & 2 of 1978.

hey ozrider,
are you taking about the winfield gtr?, if so i bought the thicker decals ages ago from a bloke called george on this forum (the older members might remember the stir this made...ah the politics!) anyway they look great because the lettering "racing' is slightly raised anyway. maybe somebody knows his email address. they were pretty cheap too, $11.00 if i remember correctly but that was about 3 years ago.

In regards to decals, do people think the relative value of the scale model is decreased or increased if the correct decals are applied.
I currently have a boxed Winfield GTR as well as the decals and I am still at a loss as whether to apply them or not.
To satisfy my originality concerns for other makes and interests I have had to import 1/43 resin and white metal models to replicate their actual running livery.
ie Winfield Lancers run at Rally Australia, 555 subarus in the Kenyan Safari or Rothmans Escorts.

Semee, i think that diecasts are only worth what people are prepared to pay for them but to be completely honest, my cars are priceless to me. If you want it to look like to real thing, put on the decals , there is always somebody out there that wants it to look as you do, but please dont be wrapped up in the idea of "investment" (have to box it, leave on thestraps etc.. Enjoy your model, display it in a dustproof cabinet , thats what it was made for. However, each to there own and if you want $, the fact is that like anything, how it was off the manufacturing line is best - original and untouched!
hope this helps but everybodies view is probably different.

Its Simple are you a collector or a reseller. A collector will convert and admire a reseller will always grapple with the idea but is always undecided due to thinking of the resale.

I started this thread asking for info about getting some decals made, what I want them for is for the BMW that Allan Moffat codrove to victory in the 1975 sebring 12hr race.
Now I know his name did not apear on the actual car but I want his name and that of the other codrivers that are not on the car
on the model. Now some people will say that it will devalue the model, but I dont care it is for my collection and I will be more than happy when I achieve this goal.
as for resale my kids can sort that out when im gone.

these are the basic decals i need made up in 1:43(with correct fonts and crown logo) if it turns out alright i might need a few sets made up but ill need atleast two sets for my models.
*i know its on a VY when the real ute is a VX and the model will be a VX but the VY was the only front, side, top, rear pic i could find and its the same body anyway.*

I've made up some simple contigency decals using a laser printer, clear decal film and MSWord. You can also print out the names and take your decal film to a copy center and copy the names onto the decal film.
Here's a couple of pix of the contingency decals on a phantom Porsche I did.

George, the decal man is still making decals for the cars that need them, you can get his Email adress from his ad in the BUY/SELL/SWAP section of this site.
I allways buy them from him, they make the car look complete and i don't plan on ever selling them.
