I'm just looking to pick a few members brains. I just visited this website

http://www.toranagtrxu-1.com/ndx/spec.htm

It states that all XU-1's, even the race ones, came with Stromberg carbs. I thought that the LC's used triple Zeniths and Holden switched to triple SU's for the LJ's. I also read somewhere that one of Brocks XU-1s actually used triple Webers.

Can any of you guys put me straight?

I'm pretty sure they were C.D Strombergs very similar in apperance to SU's but I'm no expert.

ok lc xu1s left the factory with 1.50cd strombergs and the LJ xu1s had 1.75 cd stombergs. In 1972 brockys XU1 had the factory strommies fitted as the production race rules did not alow changes. In 73 the cars still left the factory with stromgergs how ever the last 150 xu1s made in august 73 did have some engine upgrades and largers ports and larger inlet manifild also the rear of the carberator was also machined larger.
The racing rules changed in 73 and carberators were changed for racing. Brocky did run tripple webbers in 73 how ever as there a twin venturi carby one hole had to be blocked off to stay with in racing guide lines as the strommies where single venturi. The HDT xu1s also played with SUs on colin bonds car
hope this helps
