I was the second who voted for neither......cos I collect 1/43 ......now if the poll didn't state 1/18, the answer would have been very different :D

Thankyou rayman, now thats what im talking about Thomas.
I don't even know what an XE ESP looks like.:D
Is that because they're too fast to catch? :P
Heh, I vote make both of them in all sizes.
The VN Goup A is the last of the real special factory 'limited build' cars in my opinion.
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate an EB and and an EL GT, but as much as it hurts to say, the VN has the grunt to match the looks.
As nice as today's stuff is, I think there's too much feel of mass production in them.
Not only that, the VN has REAL race pedigree and heritage like the older racers, and that's coming from a Ford fan........

Is that because they're too fast to catch? :P Nah mate, its because its a Ford and I don't know anything about Fords. Just as a side note, every Biante and CC 1:18 model in my collection is a commodore so I'm all Holden. That'll be till Monday or Tuesday.:D
Anyway, can I change my vote to both as it'll keep both sides happy?:)
Cheers,
Thomas

well said John, i voted for both of course, but what the Holden fans may not understand is, the ESP's were an important car to the Ford fans, its really the only decent car Ford provided us in the 1980's, when Holden fans on the other hand were given a wide variety of tough cars to choose from eg. Brock Commodores, Walkinshaw, Turbo/5.0L Calais's and many, many more.

An XE ESP Ghia 5.8 would be nice but I don't think that they would sell as well as the VN's. Would be interesting to note how hard it would be to adapt the 1:18 '82 to '84 Dick Johnson racing XE moulds to do the standard road going version???

yet Holden/HDT had a stack to choose from in the 1980's
thats why the ESP is a must for Ford collectors. its an important part of Aussie motoring

maybe we'd have more luck asking classics to build the ESP, as seeing PB didn't drive it I fear we've got a snowflakes hope in hell in ever seeing Biante making one.....:(

i don't want that to happen, after seeing the work on the Biante Johnson XD/XE's, i much rather Biante make it, i have a fear that CC will butcher the body shape as they have done this with some of there previous releases, i'd rather code 3 my XE ATCC model, but i wont give up hope just yet.

I know how you feel, I too would love it to be Biante, however I feel that considering the time that has passed since the first Group C XE, that perhaps the other side is our only hope as it's appears rather clear that it's not an item that the Brock model car company are interested in....:(

thats fair enough, but to be honest, i dont think even classics will make it......they are too busy re-creating old Biante releases:p:D
as i stated in my last post, i'd be better off doing a code 3, while this project may be consided very hard by other forum members, it isnt out of the question for myself, im a panelbeater by trade so massaging metal is my forte, i believe its possible.... just look at GRPIII's VL Director project, it's amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it.
you could use scheel seats from a brock model for the interior,
and there are plenty of models with very simalar wheels to the ghia ones used on the ESP, although they would need some slight modifcatons. but these things are minor, the body itself is a big job, but again, it is possible.

You are a funny man. Using snowflakes in your statement. The wheels used on the XE ESP were called Snowflakes. I don't know about the other side making them either as their focus will also be on Peter Brock cars too. A little birdie told me there are license dealings going on.

so what does this mean? is Biante going to dedicate themselves
to producing Brock/Holden models only?
if this is the case, this will be a huge blow for non Holden/Brock collectors (Ford collectors)
dont get me wrong, i have quite afew Brocks and Holdens in my collection, but Fords rule supreme in my cabinet, so if im going to be forced to buy classics because they are the ones with the "Ford rights" i will be greatly dissapointed. as i am a huge fan of Biante models

I don't think you read correctly. Both companies are wanting to be licensed to produce Brock Models. 1 already has and the other wants to.

I would say it had the best running gear of the lot, but for looks, the Walkinshaw was the standout for me.
