Bathurst Giveaway

With Petes departure from offering prizes and running comps and his generousity over the years being both greatly appreciated and sadly missed I have decided to throw an idea at the Admins, mods and membership:

Does anybody have any objections to me (hopefully with Wazza's help hint hint :D ) running a forum comp closer to the race day of Bathurst this year?

With this years race being the 40th anniversary of Brocky's debut at the mountain the items offered will be some rare and mint Brock / HDT items circa 1986 that will look the goods in anyones cabinet and the exact prizes will be revealed closer to race day, as with the actual comp thread and rules.

As always I'm happy to hear the members opinions. Big shoes to fill I know. Too early? Yes but this is not the comp thread, just a gauge of interest (and permission from the powers that be)

I'll wait on further opinions of the membership and more importantly, the decision of The Brass further to a PM sent recently to staff. If there is nothing heard I will assume it does not have the stamp of approval, slide back under my rock, and sure somebody else will come along and fill Petes big shoes before October.

Just on that Damage, Biante actually contacted me and donated to the Sandown comp out of their own good will...which is fantastic.

But IMO, I wouldn't put it on Biante to donate.
They shouldn't be made to feel obliged to contribute. Just have fun with the comp yourselves and abide by admin's suggestions to do it properly.:-)

Just on that Damage, Biante actually contacted me and donated to the Sandown comp out of their own good will...which is fantastic.

But IMO, I wouldn't put it on Biante to donate.
They shouldn't be made to feel obliged to contribute. Just have fun with the comp yourselves and abide by admin's suggestions to do it properly.:-)

No Pete, I definately wasnt asking Biante to donate anything, more just a yay or nay on if its okay to do. Sorry if I wasnt clear on that. The prizes would be from my own collection.

Gotta go back on my word a little, not that it will be a bad thing:-) Chris from Biante has donated another model for my next comp, without realizing I'd pulled the pin on any more...:rolleyes:

So I will run one more for QLD :)
But please note, this will in no way effect what you boys are organizing for Bathurst...go for it, I wont get in the way...hell, I'll even enter that comp myself !!!

So expect a Queensland comp, before you guys tackle the Bathurst comp.

That is very nice of all the team at Biante helping out the people that support them and giving away products. I dont think you would see any other model car company doing what they do.

As Designer said they are 'Customer Focused' and dont try to defend their mistakes as they DON'T make any that I know of.

I will help out in any small way I can as I do not have anything to donate to the winners stockpile.
