Good Morning Collectors. Just a quick question, i just picked up my Monza Green Phase 3 and on the bonnet on the mat black strips around the shaker is an oil stain from the factory. I didnt want to use anything on it untill i got some feed back as to what might remove it? It does look as though its has permanently stained it. Thanks for any feed back. Stef

Hi Stef,
Can you post a picture, as I dont think I have come across this before.

I had a Lowndes First ford a few years ago and it had oil( or soy sauce:D) pooled on the bottom edge of the rims (wheels). It wiped of easy but there was enough to get on fingers just rotating the wheels. I have never heard or saw this again

I have come across a light sheen of oil on quite a few models.
Both the 1/43 rally box sets I bought yesterday had it on both the cars and the clear plastic insert in the lids. Just polished it off.
The 1/18 Richards/Skaife Commodore was very bad for this. All tyres were absolutely covered on it. Still trying to clean it 100%.

Alight film is usually under / around the bootclips of later Autoart Commodores. As for the OP, just try a nice soft cloth or tissue and it should all be good.
I had a similar issue with the JPS BMW I bought.
Fired off a note to Biante, only for them to tell me it was oil, and would wipe off.
Didn't I feel like a fool!
I don't know how you'll go with the matt paint finish, but the oil should just come off.
You could try something like CRCs contact cleaner, but I would be VERY carefull with it.
Ed :)

Hdt337, ill try to post a picture, not sure how the old camera will go! Thanks to all who replied! Ive recieved quiet a few models that have had patches of a fine film of oil on them, on the paint work is fine, it just wipes off with a tissue but being on the gt bonnet on the matt black finish i wasnt sure how to go about getting it off. for now ill try a damp cloth.
