Saw this bargain NOT!!!! in the buy and sell section:

Area: Perth
What is it?: HSV GTO
Buy/Sell/Swap: SELL

Biante 1/18 HSV GTO Coupe (Red & Silver)
Both Certificate number 0002
$500 each

Same seller:

What is it?: HSV GTS coupe
Buy/Sell/Swap: SELL

Biante 1/18 HSV GTS Coupe (Dark Green)
$300

And again:

What is it?: HSV GTS Coupe
Buy/Sell/Swap: SELL

Biante 1/18 HSV GTS Coupe (Yellow)
Certificate number 0002
$500

People like this are wasting valuable space in the buy and sell. No one is going to pay that much, especially with the problems the section has with costs to Biante.

Glen -

Thanks for the heads-up! I'm going to contact him right now to get in on THAT good deal!

Seriously, though. Some of the folks in the buy/sell/swap section have been downright nasty (i.e. yammering about "no time wasters" and then never responding to your serious offers, which YOU spent time to send to them).

On the other hand, most of the people seem very nice. I guess you just have to ignore those few. I would think anyone reading this forum would knowledgeable enough to dismiss such prices. About the only places a price like that will fly are the auction sites and your own sales site.

...was in melbourne today for the first time shopping since i am in australia again.thought i'd visit all the model shops i knew from last year...was a big surprise...the first shop i was(yellow signs..something with hobby blabla, asian owners) had a strange pricing with all the biante models...the black moffat falcon and the brock torana ax9 for 125$...but the moffat xy#1 for 450$????
the dick johnson tru blu for 350$ and the Dick Johnson xc for 650$(hahahahaha).....
the second shop was model mania in flinders lane...they really have a good stock of models but the prices are out of this world....
the dick johnson sierra for 500$ which made me laugh out loud when i asked the lady behind the counter....next to it was the moffat xy 65e (sorry for not knowing the exact name of the cars)
i just said "all right, i m not asking for the price of THAT car then" which she commented with" well a bit more for that one..."
very high prices for gmp and exoto models as well...but they had the gmp big scale gt40 on display...*slobber*...didn t ask for the price...didn t really want to know it;) .....

A rabid fan, mustang. And, yes, I saw it and I wondered if it was for real. I was ready to buy it just for the heck of it until I saw the price.

Is Duff a good beer? I like Old Australian Stout . . . that's a good beer!

Wasn't the Wild Violet GT the one that took a long time to sell in the shops when it was released ???

I can remember seeing them for sale in the shops several months after they were released.

I can't seem to remember that happening with the White or Red GT's, matter of fact, I can't think of any other biante model(perhaps the Bargs/Tander Bathurst winner) that appeared to sell that slowely (for a Biante that is)

To quote one of my favorite movies

"...tell em their dreaming....."

cheers.

The yellow Ochre was the car that was not as big as the others, well up untill to Quicksilver and VF.

zeitgeist, I never got a chance to try that Wonderful Duff :(

Went I went to buy a slab it was all finished, I know years ago a carton of the stuff was fetching a small fortune. Sometimes on Ebay you can find a can, they seem to go for between the 30 - 50 dollar mark.

Can't get enough, of that wonderful Duff. Mmmmmm gummy beers

That is why people are selling unopened cans. They bought a carton and tried one then wont open the rest because the beer is best described as 'very average'.

Still got the 23 cans Richard?

If so I will swap you a 2002 1/18 CC Radisch car for it. ;)
