Hey SDK, I love your pitlane shots. That one of the FPR is very cool. Did you take them from the balcony's of the corporate boxes above the pits?
Cheers,
Thomas

Yeh, managed to get into the HRT Suite for the Friday arvo sessions. Be better next year when HRT move back to either first or second pit bays as they are down the back end this year.

Sorry, but some guys aren't on mega fast connections (I browse via mobile broadband now quite a bit) and it's bloody frustrating to wait for a page to load and find it's not A-1.
Have some consideration for other users and post quality stuff rather than just flooding the forum with anything.

I dont want you to think im having a dig, and im worried to voice my opinion because you are a mod, but what the hell, just because you want every photo to be of professional quality, doesnt mean forum members shouldnt post what they have taken because they aren't professional photographers, who cares if they are not 100% they just showing what they could do, my opionion regards Ash

Not asking for 100% pro shots, but is stuff that's out of focus really worth seeing?
Just my opinion (and last time I checked I was allowed to have one) but it is very frustrating waiting for a page to load and then viewing stuff that's not even close to being sharp.

Now it becomes technical, deciding if a shot is that bad it warrents being removed :o. It isn't a photography forum after all. You are entitled to your opinion, i never said you weren't, just thought that other forum members might have a differing one, as i do. Im happy to leave it as is, yourself and other mods do a great job maintaining this forums, i dont want to cause any upset. Regards Ash

Look mate I'm never going to play god with any of this. As a mod I only step in when I have to or have been asked to.
All I was asking is for people to think a little. I know that I only post when something pretty much hasn't been covered before. Brad shot from most positions I did so there's not much point in me posting duplicate shots.
I am a collector first and a volunteer mod a very distant second and never expect to be treated any differently to any other forum member.

WOW mine are not that sharp because I reduce the photo right down from the 5meg files I have so that it does help with the speed, thus the quality does fade away. Most of the photos I post are only 100kilobites to help out. Looks like no more from me:o

Hasn't been decided - they're waiting for shops to put there orders in (due this week i think) and then they'll come up with a number. Hopefully around 3000 or so.

It's a hard balance to achieve for a manufacturer. I personally hope they do at least 5000 as I think with the car winning the race they would sell.
Limited runs are great, but I hate seeing people miss out on a model they really want.

At least this time CC are waiting for shops to put their orders in before deciding on a run. Cars like the Skaife/Tander 08 bathurst car, and the red dust had their production run decided before CC even announced the cars.

Though CC isn't giving shops much time to get orders in, but i guess ppl either want the car or they don't.

If everyone preorders at their local dealer no one should miss out. After all the shortages the last 6-12 months you would hope everyone would know that by now. (except in the instances shops get orders cut, but thats only as CC had to distrubte 1500 cars between all the shops, rather then build numbers for the demand).

I cant see them making 5000 - v8supercar productions runs have been massively scaled back for this season - 1000 of each of the HRT (1800 lowndes, but all the others 1000 or less) (except reynolds - different story there though). Tander doesn't have the same pull as Skaifey did, but Davison's fan base is definitly growing by the day.

I'm beginning to think that in a few years we might only see 1 car made from each team and that car being the Bathurst car?

Reducing the size of the image does not have to dumb down the res or quality of the image ;) You can still post an image of a reasonable size while retaining the integrity of the image. With mine I've just made them 20cm wide instead of 1.6m, which saves members a bucket load of bandwidth (for those not fortunate enough like me to have ADSL2), but keeps it large enough to show what's going on.

Yes true, Braddles:D The way i see it, as long as nothing protrudes (???) your site boundary then put what ya like in there!
If a car is outside the line and is a hindrance then it gets towed away, quite simple really.
One official said to me"well look at it this way, the less cars the more room for your tents, vans etc"
I said to him "well look at it this way, I cant get my ....... van in cos the thing towing it is not allowed in!!!"

follow this link, Windows Image Resizer. Download the tool and it becomes a function of your right click on the mouse. We use it heavily at work so that you dont email big files around and clog up the email system. It reduces the images down to 100 kb.

Many thanks for that.:) Shall give it a go.

Brad, I saw your post in the other thread unfortunately after I posted here, but Leigh this is a great photo, Wayno you certainly looked the part on the day, I almost walked up and asked for an autograph LOL. However in saying you looked the part Wayno, did anyone get a photo of the guy in the lion suit (red vinyl) from the No S**t Hotel group? Now that's what you need to wear next year Wayno.

Hi, just joined this site cuz i saw people were commenting on the suit i was wearing up at bathurst. if people are after photos send me an email at random_hero_01@hotmail.com and id be more than happy to forward a few photos of me in the suit, there was enough taken, cameras loved it...so did i accept it got incredible hot in there. Well I think it is pretty fast to have 20 odd hours edited down and mass produced and on shop shelves within 10 days. Last year it didn't come out till mid november. Yet it takes 6 or 7 months to put out the championship dvd

I think Last year it was also out by the end of the following week after Bathurst, also the Championship DVD was out within a fortnight, and is claimed to be out before Christams this year.

Not wanting to take too much shine of this, however don't forget that the Bundy car had more of a wet setup than #888, as once the track went dry again #888 got past and disappeared quite easily

A rookie passing Whincup:D Hey, even Jack Perkins (could've been his co-driver) passed Whincup. Obviously a blunder on 888's behalf with the wet setup for the car knowing that they were racing Bathurst where you can experience 4 seasons in a day.
Awesome shots anyway, the 3rd one is the best IMO.

This is the closest thread for this car comparison. I didnt want to be like some on this forum who create a thread for a picture :(

As we know, for FPR's 2009 cars, CC used Ford blue rather than Pirtek blue. We dont need to go into great detail on the history as it was well documented / questioned by all and sundry.

Anyway, I purchased the 2009 Frosty/Richo BBQ Bathurst car and when I saw the colour, I wasnt convinced until Ray said it was correct!

I know one thing - my hobby room is quite dark, and the 2009 Frosty car looks super dark, whereas if you compare both of the cars together, it is not as obvious. Maybe I am going blind.

Here is a comparison of Lowndes First Test Ford Code 3 by Rascot to the Frosty/Richo BBQ car. The colour of the Code 3 is Pirtek blue as SBR made him some paint / provided him the paint code. They look pretty good to me!

Overall its great to have had a model from 2009 which was the correct colour. But for the money that we pay for these cars, we would expect it to be correct.

The BBQ car is a lot lighter than the Frosty car so at least it looks alot better. Regarding the bonnet pins, The Frosty car must have them in the incorrect place. Their location would put them somewhere on the engine cover rather than the radiator support where they should be. Obviously something else cc have fixed up
