Thought I would ask about hard to get or favourite models
I dont have a favourite model as such just many that I like
although the one in the picture attached
(once admin ok the pic)
is certinally one of my favourite models.
Its a Richard Petty 50th anniversary model
His transporter and 7 championship winning cars, the quality
is no Biante, but its one of my favourites all the same.
I searched the net for about 2 years trying to find a decent Richard Petty model, until I came across this, I had not seen it before or since.
I hope you like it
Tell us about your favourites or hard to get models in your collections.

Minichamps 1:18 Porsche 956L......Better-looking than most women in my home town....All I want now is the white prototype and a Rothmans (if I can write that :D ) Jacky Ickx car, but I suspect I might have to wait a long time.

I managed to get a 1977 Pontiac Trans Am, Black Chrome Chase Car made by Ertl and is 1 of 416. This one is definitely NOT comming out the box.

Full set of Toyota Corolla WRCars with the different door plates for each event contested that year.
Stumbled accrots it in an out of the way hobby store in Perth. Had been searching for months on the East Coast and a visit to Rally Oz and this store produced it.

Franklin Mint does a very nice Richard Petty range in 1/24,
the finish and detail is a real WOW.
You would have to source it on Ebay.

There is a 70 Superbird, a Belvedere, and a couple of versions of the 78 Cutlass that ive seen.

Cheers

My favourite are the Dick Johnson Cars I have collected so far.
The wide range of vehicles spanning nearly thirty years gives a collection a pinnacle to view.

Mine would have to be either the Sting Red Clubby or the Devil Yellow Monaro without the CoA. You know, they only made a couple hundred of those.

I don't understand why you guys aren't jumping to swap with me!
:D

Smeee - I too got the entire set of Corolla WRC's in 1:43 with all the different door plates from different rallies. They also have the special white Toyota Corolla WRC TTE packaging, with that rally's special graphics on it (as well as the car). And only 2500 of each car! As a set of 10, they look fantastic. Definitely one of the favourite parts of my collection. I bought 7 of the ten through my local model shop, then the last two were stolen from him in a break-in before I could purchase them. I had to track the last three down from model shops in Sydney, at inflated prices. But I have them now, and they are a complete set, and surely worth something now that Toyota look like not returning to the WRC again. I also have nearly the entire set of Toyota F1 releases - just missing the special 'Grand Prix debut' cars of Salo and McNish, and the special 'Michelin' release of Salo. But at a combined $745 from Sheriff's Minicars in Parramatta for 3 1:43 cars, I don't think I'll ever get them for a realistic price.

My single favourite Biante release though has to be Johnson's Sierra. Marvellous.

I have to say my favourite model besides the whole DJR collection would be My 1/18 Greg Moore indycar, looks great and was super hard to get one.
I was going to say my unopened jim beam 78 Corvette bottle but it's not a model, but still great.

Oldxr,
I've got the Jeam Beam Corvette as well, but mine is the 1973 model in Maroon. The roof lifts off to uncover the spout as the car itself holds the Jeam Beam.
I purchased mine from a Drive Thru Bottle Shop about 5 years ago and have not seen another one since. Are they very rare???

Damian, i have no idea if their rare or not, i got mine for my 21st birthday, i'm now 37 and it says on the bottle its 100 months old, all up thats about 24 years old, so it's well and truelly aged.
