It 'll be interesting to see the demand for this one, I thought that there were at least some people looking for this one.
It is a nicely made model and it won at Bathurst ,albeit in the hands of Gentleman Jim.:D

35 min to go and 14 bids ,it's up to over $150 ,will it reach the 200 mark?
It is a very nice model and should not be missed in a Brock collection. Hope it will be made in 1/18 as part of the series.

This is complete nonsense. I hope it wasn't a forum member because the price is totally over the top and at least 3 times the 'market' value of this model.
Just last week you could have purchased the same model for Euro 22 / A$41 from Germany.

Mate, supply and demand is different in every country. Some European DTM models are very common in Australia priced at AU$40-50, but in Germany they are paying more than AU$200.
I would love to know where I could find a Brock Volvo for $60 in Australia. Saw one in a shop for $100, one day later it was gone.. Kicking myself because I hesitated for one day……… :(
PS. Not a big fan of Ebay. Still love to buy models locally and support shops here.

Bob, I think there is a bid difference between prices in a store and prices on ebay. I agree there are many cars that can be bought cheaply from a store in one country that will fetch high prices on ebay in another country. But generally that is only because the retailers don't know the value of those particular models. But prices on ebay should be roughly equal (taking into account shipping costs) given that its an international market.
Its a few years since this model was released so you would be luck to find one in a store in Australia but that alone doesn't make it worth $150. The Brock Volvo is not a rare car outside of Australia and comes up regularly on ebay (USA, UK or Germany)for A$ 40 - $60, so why pay three times the price !
Note that the winning bidder had Zero feedback, while the underbidder only had a feedback of '3'. Both of these guys were new to ebay (less than 30 days) and I'd suggest didn't know what they were doing.

What seems to be the problem?
Like real estate, what ever someone is willing to pay is the selling price........................
Who has got an axe to grind whit whom?????????????????
what is going on???????????????
I have no dealing in the sale of the model!!!!!!!!!
the Cheapest is not THE BEST at ANY TIME in my book!!!!!!!!!

Relax FF...............no one has an axe to grind with anyone (least of all you). Its just a shame to see two newcomers pushing up the price against each other because they didn't know any better.
See you on Saturday ?

I think $100 for this model is very reasonable. Anything more than $100 is too much. It’s true that you can obtain this model cheaper at Ebay, but you will have to pay international shipping charges, bank fees….. (in the case the seller do not accept credit cards)
I also think most of local retailers do know the value of their models. I was talking to a retailer yesterday, he is very aware of the current international price of rare touring car models.. But he also says that if he tries to sell them at that price here, he will never sell any of them. Again, like I said before, supply and demand is different in every country.
How about the Brock Vectra made by ONYX? I think this model is more difficult to find than the Volvo.

Has Minichamps done this in 1/18 yet? Or a similar shaped volvo yet?

The same logic applies to the Onyx Vectra as the Minichamps Volvo - rare and expensive in Australia, plentiful and cheap overseas. You just need to know where to look ! ! !
I picked up the Brock Vectra for only A$32 last week (about $45 delivered) :-

Here is another one that will cost you about A$ 65 landed in Oz :-
