Picked this one up on eBay and it arrived damaged in the post

I want to try and repair it (rather than send it back) as there were only 250 made, and I have been searching for it for a while

If anyone who has fixed something like this before could give me a few pointers it would be most appreciated

The last pic is of the broken part that I found in the bottom of the box when I opened it

Why don't you buy a complete front sub assembly from Ebay

Say MotorSport Kingdom, an Ebay Store, if he doesn't have one, he'll keep one for you the next time he dismantles one.

Hi Yap (and Drew)

Thats an easy fix. I received an 06 BW with the same problem.

1. With a flat head screw driver pop the red wheel nut cap off - you will have to glue this back on later. Do it as if you were opening a tin of paint (pry at 4 points around the cap - not just the 1). (hope that makes sense!)

2. Unscrew the wheel and take it off and the brake/disc pad

3. You will see that its a wheel strut that needs to go up into the wheel arch and the bottom of the wheel axle thing.

4. You'll have to bend the plastic a bit and push it back in with a lot of effort. It is very fiddly this part - but is doable. Doesnt need to be glued - it will hold itself in. I have found if you have a really strong set of tweezers can help with this (put the strut in the tweezers and pry the plastic axle away with another set if possible). I used a disection kit for when i did mine... but im sure some tools around the house will help.

5. Once its back in replace the brake and disc pad and wheel.

6. Dab of glue (i use superglue - in GEL form (doesnt drip) - and a bit on the end of the match stick - use tweezers and position the cap over the centre of the wheel - should just stick on - wait 5 mins or so and it'll be perfect.

Hope that helps - if you have any more questions just pm me. In the end its a very doable fix and will have the car perfect again.

*Helps if you do it with the car upside down. I find putting the car on a towel helps and if you mould the towel to fit between the back window and rear spoiler so theres no weight on the spoiler. Be careful though with the front wiper as it can get caught in the towel - but you should be sweet.

I use a miter box with a towel over it, keeps the car steady and protects against scratches. Also good for applying decals too.

Just to show those who don't know.
I use a $5.00 mitre box with a towel which makes putting on decals easy and also for carrying out repairs. you can have the car in any position with out causing damage.
Cheers

Hey Daniel.
Bunnings or any general hardware. They are made from plastic.

Another thing you can use for applying decals or repairs is the foam box that the car came it. That's what i use, just put the car on its side and make sure the wheels are sitting nicely somewhere in the foam.;)
