I went to the convention centre in Sydney to the wholesalers expo and saw the charger on display. it wasnt a bad looking model either. I played with the windows, noticed it even had compliance plates on the firewall but for some reason it just looked a bit odd! i think the lights are too small...anyway this was numbered 507 and the bloke told me they will probably be out next week...just thought you guys would like to know! oh yeah, the paint seemed a bit too thick.

I've seen heaps of photos and I agree it doesn't look quite right - to be honest the Biante 1:43 has an better overall "look" in my opinion. A silver E49 in 1:18 would blow the CC one into the weeds, window winders or not! Connected with that - why do publicity photos of these models often have doors that don't shut properly or pinstripes that don't line up? The Charger and Moffat Coca-Cola Mustang both looked a bit rough (look at the photos in AMC), and even Biante managed to photograph the Moffat Cobra in its brochure with a door not shut properly!!! Maybe I should get out more?

Nick,
You should get out more often. :)
I am waiting for the Biante Vitamin C E49 1:18.
I have the Biante 1:43 Vitamin C and it is a brilliant model.

A question regarding CC's new Charger:
This auction (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3117187540&category=223) shows what appears to be a VERY different colour than every other photo I've seen of this car. Do differences in light affect this colour that much?
Some web searching revealed photos of the real car, some not looking as pink as the shots on CC's site, but none looking as red as this one.
About the only reason I've not purchased this car is because, at least by CC's photos, it is way too pink for my tastes.
I'll probably hold out for Biante's Vitamin C, anyway.

Picked up a CC's mustang today, fantastic model. Had a look at the Charger, looks great also, hopefully add that one to the collection eventually.
Had a look at that link, picture is very red. In person, looks pretty much the colour on CC's site.

Had a good look at the CC Charger on Friday.
The colour put me off...if it was Vitamin C I probably would buy it.
I admired the 1:43 Charger in Vitamin C but opted for the Brock 05 Bathurst Car instead as these seem hard to get.
I must save some more pennies and get the 1:43 Charger soon!

No axe to grind here as I only collect 1/43, & already have 2 Trax Chargers. I've seen the Biante 1/43 Chargers, & agree that they're great little models, better than my Trax versions. Then again, they cost 25% more, too, & I bought my Magenta E38 over a year ago. The second one is Leo Geoghan's '71 Bathurst E38, which fits very nicely into my racing collection.
I saw the CC Magenta Charger in a shop recently & was very impressed, particularly with the engine bay. The Rocker cover, especially looked like real alloy. The colour too, going off my Trax model, is correct. On the colour, it's interesting that while Magenta was one of the LEAST produced colours in real life, Trax Has made a 1/43, & a 1/24 version in that colour. They also did a Vit.C 1/24, but that sold out very quickly. Now CC has done their 1/18 in Magenta, too. Does that say anything about the colour sense of we collectors?

Steve, the colours people remember now, and not usually the colours that were the most popular back at the time.
EG: Warwick Yellow was not a popular colour for HK GTS 327's, yet it was used for the race cars, and a lot of advertising... people remember it. Most people relate the new CV6/8 Monaros with Devil (yellow), but it is far from the most popular colour. Notice how the devil coloured 1:18 cars get the highest prices?
I have not idea what colours were available for the chargers, except for vitamin "c", magenta, and the silver metallic. If i was buying one, they are the colours id choose, because they are what i remember (cause they stand out).

I just bought one from Perth Hobby Centre on Sunday, and I'm blown away with the amazing quality and detail of this model.
I think the interior is what surprise me the most, with real seat belt, soft seats, real carpet, and the fact that the windows wind up and down is pretty clever.
I give them 10 out of 10 for this model, there is nothing I can fault on it and I've owned my fair share of real Chargers and various die cast models.

Got my CC Charger along with My XA GT today.
I collect primarily Biante products, but must admit the Charger is very, very, very good.

When it comes to Chargers, I'd get both of those colours passenger. But Vitamin C would be the ideal colour.
I was sceptical of the classic carlectables Charger but seeing as everyones giving it a good rap I reckon I might get it.

I don't know about the complete VH Valiant Charger range, but for the curious, the 149 VH R/T E49 Chargers produced came in the following colours :
Vitamin C - 34 cars
Hemi Orange - 32 cars
Mercury Silver (Metallic) - 29 cars
Hot Mustard - 27 cars
Vintage Red - 12 cars
Limelight - 7 cars
Bondi Bleach - 3 cars
Sunfire Yellow - 3 cars
Ebony Black - 1 car
Arctic White - 1 car
How many of the few-numbered colour cars still survive ?

I have just got my Charger and I agree with you AussieCuda (10 out of 10). It is fantastic. What awesome detail. Under the bonnet, the interior and the seatbelts are great. It is a job well done from CC.

I have to agree with the others...this is a very good model. If you don't like the Magenta colour? the next model is Chivas/Beck race car followed by another colour(if the market demands it) but again these will be produced in limited numbers.

Suprising about that race car version, would have thought with the Pete Geoghan Mustang ,they would have done a Geoghan Charger.

Trax have already done the Geoghan E38 Charger in 1/43 & 1/24, both still currently available. This was the '71 white & blue car. They've also done the orange '72 Bathurst car in 1/43. No guesses as to what their next 1/24 Charger will be.

Sorry matey, I don't have the full story on VH Charger production numbers and colours.
In relation to the E38 'six pack', I can only tell you that 316 R/T cars were built with the E38 option and of these, 73 were painted Vitamin C (orange).
As with the later E49 R/T option, Chrysler decided that orange was the colour to have !!

Hi guys, i know this is an old thread, but thought it's most suitable for my post. I would like to know if the #2D E49 Charger driven by Geoghan is coloured Vitamin C like the road car? Anyone have some pics? Thanks..
