I Was Looking Around For The Wilsons Pink Bonnet
On The Net,to Buy For My Wife Because She Likes That Kind Of Stuff And I Do As Well And Its For A Great Cause, Last Week I Brought The Pink Batting Gloves To Play In And They Look Cool,
So The Bonnet Was Next On My List ,
Found One On A Web Site And I Will Name And Shame At The End, For $175 Not Signed ,i Was Disguisted At The Mark Up Of A Charity Item Like That,
I Know The $135 They Make On This Will Not Go The Charity At All And I Hope That Biante Can Contact This Retailer And Give Them A Massive Kick In The Arse For This.
Monster Diecast You Make Me Feel Very Sick ,and Even More Sick For The Women Who Have Had The Cancer That Monster Diecast Is Taken Advantage Of.
If Any Body Knows Of A Retailer That Has One Please Let Me Know Thanks.

there is another retailer that has one for $205,
i guess retailers/collectors are treating this limited edition bonnet like any other limited edition model car e.g. redust, frosty cobra, 2008 BW etc, prices on these models sky rocketed in days
i understand your anger about the whole charity thing, and i do agree with you, but i cant see Biante doing anything about it.
BTW it reads "temporarily out of stock" on the Biante website so it will be back in stock soon..... and its only $50.00

I can't see many people buying them for that price. And if they are a retailer, won't the $5 still go to charity anyway? Maybe they are trying to turnover some profit after all the models that have devalued by around 50% over the last year and a bit.

i guess biante factor in that the dealers may try to make more then they should thats why the put the doanting in the price so that the foundation dosnt miss out, as they say there is always 1 bad apple in the fruit bowl

Legal reasons for one.
This is not new in this hobby, and I can understand your disgust Jawa, & I take it you been in this hobby long enough and seen this a few time (Brock foundation Porsche comes to mind) as yes it’s for a great cause, but on the same hand it’s a collectable & some people put high prices on it, be it a shop, eBay seller or everyday collector, so best to turn your nose up at it, if you feel you have something to say email them direct and vent, you can make a post here saying what you seen without naming names, as people can PM you if they need to know who it is, safest way.
As now some else has put up a link hobby shop (Not saying if its good bad or ugly lol) that I have grabbed a car or two off over the years, for rrp & they were great to deal with, & also great for some info I was after, they also had another car but it was a tad too high for my liking, but it sold a few day later to someone I guess was happy to pay the price & that car is now double that price on todays market.
Hope you find one anyway bud.
Cheers
Mike

Profiteering goes on all the time, all over the world, the charity still gets its cut. its not like they are missing out.
And how much money did certain individuals and businesses make from the Lowndes Red Dust Car????

The charity is not being ripped off.
They still get their $5 dont they?
I'm always dubious about the "charity" appeal used to sell stuff... Why not just donate the $50 straight to the Cancer Council or the National Breast Cancer Foundaion if your heart is indeed set on supporting the cause?
As for limited edition collectables, if they are limited enough, popular enough and well made, the price will always go up.
