So here I am, doing "laps" at the Sydney 500 track on Thursday arvo and I stumble upon David Reynolds, driver if the #24 Bundy Red Commodore. Luckily (being from QLD) I had my certificate with me and got him to sign it. AMAZINGLY he said he hadn't seen one yet (prototype or production) and asked me about 10 questions about the model. I was suprised that he hadn't seen one in the flesh!! He was really great and signed the COA nice and neat.

Anyone else had similar experiences??

i caught up with reynolds on the friday in the paddock. Had a printed photo of his car with the bundy bear. He had a laugh and signed it for me. I haven't got my bundy model yet... Not happy about that but not much i can do. He seemed like a good bloke. He was very tight lipped when asked about what his doing next season...someone got him to sign their bundy model and he spent about 5 mins checking it out. Had a real good look around the model

as i was working (as a flag marshal) I didnt get to see much else down there. My wife went into the V8 paddock and got some shots of the car. The Sticker on the underside of the bonnet is both on the model and the 1:1 but the Bundy Bear on the intake cover is NOT on the real thing....maybe it was for other rounds but not this one....

re: drivers getting certain numbers of models etc......i spoke to fabian coulthard about the 1:10 scale mcgrath foundation bonnet he said he got #268 or something?? he said he was spewing..... light heartedly of course. The bundy red car didnt have the bundy bottle on the underside of the bonnet or the bundy bear on the engine cover.....

i think they must of been there for the 1st round though.

#111 was earmarked for the team but I believe in all the stock movements and setting up it was sold.

We always give the driver their number when their race cars are produced, unless they are number 1 which stays here.

it is? friday morning it wasnt there? maybe they put it on later.... wonder if i got any shots of the bonnet underside.... i'll have a look.

thanks for clearing that up Richard.... always an interesting topic whether drivers get their number COA or not. My uncle got #666 bought from the biante store ont he wkend i think i got #672. not that it has any significance

All teams have spare panels. It is not often that they get through a race without damaging their bonnets.

they would change the spoiler and bonnet after Qual if there were a large about of chips on the so they are presented nicely on the grid for race 1. just my thoughts. also different sponsors on the headlights in the two pics above

I also noticed this. To be honest it looks a little naked with no sponsors on the head lights. I can only imagine that when CC got the design from TWR they did not yet have a sponsor there. Remember that CC get the designs befoer Clipsal so things change after they get it.

yeh i thought this would be the case also..... they had a couple of different sponsors on the headlights this year
