No, but a HQ and a HZ ute and panel van are on the way, easy conversion to a HJ.

On the J, X and Z, usually only the grill I think, but cosmetically, the Sandman stripes as well.
That would be the most obvious changes, there may be a few small things.

The differences between the HJ and HX vary, but if you accept the HJ as a late version (ie a 1976 build) then the engines are essentially the same (ADR 27A) but for large air cleaner ID decals on the HJ-series. The earlier HJ versions (1974/75) had simpler emissions requirements, and therefore no charcoal canister, EGR valve, or other pollution gear under the bonnet.
But, the most significant variation is that the HJ featured fluted front guards straight off the Monaro GTS.
Otherwise, the HJ featured Holden Belmont inner door trims, but with the addition of arm rests, whereas HX featured Holden Kingswood door trims. A few little things varied inside such as the multi-function steering column stalk on the HX-series.
Door mirrors were standard Holden passenger car items on the HJ, whereas the HX Sandman featured the A9X style of sports mirror.
The rest of the external differences relate to the front grille, tail-light surrounds and paint treatments / accents.

With the Hx Sandman coming you would think that Biante will do the HQ,HJ and HZ vans at some stage over the next year or so. I can't wait for these to come out. Bout time we got something new

The panel vans would be the best you could do code 3's in the back ,mirors on the roof archways to the front, cupboards on the side, surf racks man those were the days :D
I didnt buy the Mambo Sandman. I know it's an expensive model now, but I just didn't like it. The HX Sandman is more appealing, I might add one to my collection.

One of my mates used to have one of the bedford vans with the dual rear wheels they had a holden red motor 173 i think it was a shocking thing out on the highway diff was way to low lol the old red motors in standard guise and non standard were extremely noisy in a bedford panel van with a low diff.

Yep ... I had a basic specification van back in 1978 as a work vehicle, plain white with hinged doors (not sliding doors as featured on many 'bread' and postal vans), with heavy-duty cross ply tyres rather than radials, and running a standard single-wheels rear axle. The engine was indeed a 173 red motor coupled to a 3-speed manual floor shift.
Unlike the Ford Transit vans, the Bedford did not get an extended nose to accommodate the six-cylinder engine, consequently the gearshift was actually behind the seat line and the gearlever angled forward from the floor.
With no load on board, the old van would light up the rear tyres no sweat, but the gearing would drive you mad when cruising speeds rose above 80kph ... the driveline noise was pretty much unbearable at 100kph ... it was a good idea to have asprin handy for long hauls ... but there was no glovebox in the Bedford, so basic was the interior.

My mate Russ had a XC sundowner panel van with factory 5.8 power steering a/cond auto 9 inch diff, full gs pack.In fact every option available on a van.Even 4 wheel disc brakes. He eventually drove it into the ground. How rare would that be today.

I don't recall when I last saw a Sundowner ... XC Falcon GS utes and GS vans were far more common, but the vans almost always feature barn doors. The XC Falcon Sundowner van, if I remember rightly, came standard with the much less common drop-down tailgate.

I remember the drifter. The drifter the sandman and the sundowner+ there was an escort van dressed up like a sundowner as well were all competing with each other for sales i dont know the sales figures but on the ground the sandman was the most popular the sundowner and the drifter seemed to be around in similar numbers while the escort seemed to be more popular the falcon and the valiant.

Chrysler also did an image thing with the CL panel van called the "Sports Van", something of an equivalent to Ford's "GS" option.
And, as an aside to Ford's Escort van, I wonder how many people recall Holden's TE Gemini "Gypsy" van ?

"Sandpiper" was a quasi-luxury version of the 1977 TC Gemini sedan and coupe, built in limited numbers and only available in exclusive Sandpiper Beige metallic paint, with cream and black accent colors.
The idea was repeated by Holden in 1981 with the TE Gemini "Sandpiper II" sedan.
Here's a recent pic of a 1977 coupe, with non-standard road wheels :
