1/43 xy pre production models

I heard on the grape vine that there were several 1/43 xy pre production models made, in odd colour combinations. Some of these may have been given out as prizes to Biante quizs. Does anyone know if they were made etc?

I can confirm that some of the first painted samples of the XY's were produced with 'odd' colour combo's. Anyone for a Wild Violet XY with white bonnet stripes? How about Yellow glo with brown stripes?

Can't confirm if any were given away as prizes as it's before my time but it sounds like something Trevor used to do. Someone out there has one of only two produced XY Falcons with only the front doors opening.

I have been on here since practically day 1 and dont remember ever hearing of these 1/43 Pre-Production models. Interesting to find out whatever happened to them.

I saw that one go to auction with the combined SA/WA GT Nationals about 10 years ago. Fetched a good price with the proceeds going to charity. Very generous of Trevor to part with such a rare car for a good cause.

i have 2 pre production 1:43s a bronze xy with brown stripes and a blue ht monaro with gold stripes and a tow bar

they were a gift from trevor, there packed away, i think there were 4 or 5 which trevor had at the melbourne toy fair years ago. i think bev would have the rest

LLoyd dont let the wife find the collection or it will cost a few more holidays that your not on.Also Trevor did give some of the 1/43 pre pros away to people who helped him source out items need to make the models ,he also gave a few away in competitions that where on the website ,cant remember how many got out but they were mainly different colour pin strips and bonnet colour strips.
