Yes its on,
I was talking to a DJR guy at the Melb show on the weekend & he said they've got a full day planned at the track in preparation for the grand prix. I might add that he said the whole team was really hyped up for the test & couldn't wait to see the new cars on the track.
cheers.

Hey,
the falcon im driving is the one Paul drove at Sandown last year and the one Max tested and done his supper fast time at Willow Bank. But this year we are gonna try diff ideas to try and get thwe car more consistent for the race but also obviously get the pace up.

Well Tony,
Did you have a successful test today up north ?
How far do you think you are off the Winterbottoms car that won at Wakefield park ?
How did the new Barra's go today ? I've read elsewere that Max had some trouble with his rear wing, was there much damage to the car ?
I got to see a little bit of the car on the news & it looks awesome. Are DJR going to give you a go in the new car soon, or are you stuck in the AU ?
Best of luck for Adeliade.
cheers
ps Are DJR going to make any merchandise for your car as I just love the shirts that the team were wearing in the pics !!!

The day was great,
It was more of a learnig test session where we went through plenty of set ups for diff circuits. Times were'nt important to the team but we no which way to take the set-up of the 71 au to take it to Winterbottom. Its just a matter of sorting and getting it done in the workshop ova the next couple of weeks. I think we done almost 500 km today so it was definatly worth while for myself and also the team.
The new BAs were of to a struggle with Maxs rear wing breaking on both sides on the back straight at 250km/h but Steve got some valuble laps today for the guys at DJR to no what has to be done for the start of the season. The cars did have minor hick-ups but they will be ready to rock at the AGP.
Biante will be makin models of the Djr Konica 71 AU Falcon hopefully finished mid March but with Merchindise still to finilised.
I will probably get a test in the BAs soon... but my goal is to win the Konica series and with some luck be in the Enduro's.
With the BAs also you gotta realize , the Djr guys work alnite with out sleep to get them on the track today so they are due plenty of credit too and plus a full day test session so im sure they will be gettin plenty of zzz's tonite before a 7 oclock start

I suppose it would be pretty hard to take a new car out for the very first time & not have some type of teething problems.
The man I was talking to at Melb, made mention of the 'mad rush' to get #18 ready for today's test & from the pics I've seen on various web sites the DJR cars look like the best looking cars on the track (I am a one eyed DJR fan though!!!)
So are you taking a hands on (tinkering with the spanners, etc...)approach to the #71 car or is Dick just getting you to drive for the team ?
It's great to hear that the team has worked out the settings for your AU as I'm sure your success will do a lot to help lift team morall.
As from an outsider looking in it appears that the team were certaintly hearing on a downer towards the end of last year (things can only get better) & from the pics on the avesco site of last weekend, it certaintly looked like they enjoyed your 2nd place.
best of luck for the future,
cheers.:D

Yeh for sure teething problems come with the business especially when the series is so close.
I dont mind getting my hands dirty(being a mechanic and doing the work on the Alfa as well) mainly just to get the load off the guys while they are trying to build the BAs.
The spirit of the guys is hi and with the Djr Konica guys doin better than expected its definatly given the moral a boost and its great to see a smile on Dicks face.
It wasnt a rush to get 18 ready but you gotta get this perfect and that takes time.

its good to see the model being released of the DJR Konica car as collectors of his cars will have a standout model with his initials/team name all over it.

Great idea terrnie,
I'd love to see that.
How about it Tony, admin ???
Considering this is a 'special' model (1st DJR Konica car & Tony's 1st V8 supercar), how about getting Tony to sign the COA's that occompany the cars when they are released ?
cheers.

Frosty,
We could also have the Series Champion Model, when Tony wins the Sports Sedan & the Konica Series. The cars should come out with No.1 on the door.
NO PRESSURE TONY!!! :D

Just imagine if Tony won Konica & Jr Johnson had another terrible year (god forbid he doesn't !!!!).
I don't think Tony would be wearing #1 on his door in 2004, but I do think he would be wearing #17 & he would be driving in the big league !!!
I just hope all goes well for both Tony & the whole DJR team.
This DJR supportor can't wait to see the mighty DJR Falcon's return back to the front of the pack, where they truely belong !!!!
cheers.:D
