At the sydney 500, DJR was selling the 1:43 johnson and courtney 2009 cars, which i purchased 1 of each
They look fantastic and well done to biante for the way the models look, fantastic job,top marks on the model's.
After seen a few members post regarding the same models cars
it made me look twice at mine and this is what i saw
"the difference between the 2 car's"

Car #17: Steven Johnson
has the navman decal, has the staunch decal, has the front splinter decal(where do you draw the line, know your limit drink responsibly), back rear bar has a reed decal which isnt on the
#18 car unsure if thats right, front grill is painted white, missing drink responsibly decal, and i have a fuel cap on the left side(passenger side) of the car and above the fuel cap is a small decal (unsure what it is ), also unsure about the rear wing decal isnt it sopose to be a 3?

Car #18 James Courtney
missing navman decal ,missing staunch decal, missing front splinter decal, (maybe these where only used at the townsville round decal's unsure)
front grill is white, and i have a fuel cap on the left side(passenger side) of the car and no decal above the fuel cap
also ? on the rear bar where the shell helix symbol has a blue line like "edy"

have used "edy" images as a guide

2. For the 1/43 DJR cars - my friend bought some at the Sydney race from DJR, and the even though they are the same production - his bonnet grilles were black and did not have the kelvar coloured finish?

2) Yes, again, a small run were delivered to DJR at Homebush - these were the first of the Season run and were slightly different to the final production run that you can buy instore or from our website.

looks like homebush release was based of end of season car, as 3 mobile decal on rear wing was not there until mid season (originaly Club Assist), also Staunch on came on after the Townsville win I think,

I recently recieved the 1:43 twin pack of these, and they look great

The only thing you get from looking backwards is a sore neck. :p:D

Going to have to use some patience with the BF's. If you are happy with the quality of the FG and VE moulds etc though, you will be very happy with the BF's - they will be worth the wait.

The early release cars were livered to later in the year specs and the second release were the start o f year. The djr livery changed slightly at the rear in nearly every round. I know that at a few rounds 17 & 18 were slightly different. You will have to find out what round there from and then see some piccy's of the cars. Apart from that I got know idea bud

Even so the 17 car should have the Drink Responsibly decal on it,maybe you can take one off Bright's car & tarnsfer it over to 17!!!
Sorry but the Bright messup should never of happened, same old same old, dont matter which company it is,dont matter wether guilt is admitted or not, shouldnt bloody happen.
Something as simple as a decal, which you can "scratch off" but be careful, or YOU mite damage the paint, then what??What of the people who buy the model & not aware, maybe a message to the model shops from Biante stating about the decal,as they did with VL #10 re: aerial.
It seems Biante new about this prior release.
Not all collectors visit this site.
No wonder people are selling off models

The #17 car in the images is based on the late season car - #18, Winton

The 1:64ths, and 18ths - both cars are based on the Winton Round.

Thanks for your constructive feedback biante1921. If you look at images from Tasmania on - Tasmania being the next round after Winton - the Drink Responsibly logo did not appear on either car.

As a business, we try our very best to give you the models you want, when you want them. Sometimes we get it right, sometimes we get it wrong, but 9 times out of 10 we get it right. In the case of the DJR Cars, the first batch of #17 cars did come down with the end of season livery and it was rectified before the remainder of the stock was delivered to stores. We estimate that there are around 60 of them released. Those of you who did get one of the #17 cars with the end of season livery, then yes, you did get something slightly different to the rest of us. With regards the Bright car, we were only aware of the issue after all stock had arrived, and been distributed to stores and therefore its difficult for us to do anything but advise a cure.

For those of you who have asked about acquiring the additional decals etc, we are unfortunately unable to do this. As i said however, you have received what is an accurate car, just from a different round.

Just a quick question, when you talk about the 60 that were released, were these the resin ones? or a different lot?
