Oh yeah totally  just sick of all the crap about how people read into practice sessions and test days example triple8's test day wasnt great and most people where writing them off to fire straight away and gee what a result last weekend. If they are at the bottom of qualifying then id be worried but its a practice session where they adapt the car to the track and try things. so yeah youve touched a nerve hope it makes you feel better  Oh look garth has topped practice now his going to win yehaaaaaaaa:p

1:43
25-02-2010, 06:25 PM
Hey, sorry mate didn't mean to offend.:o

I was only having a laugh, because yeh, your right people do read to much into practise sessions and exactly as you said T8 are a perfect example.

I think they may not have put to much effort into Tuesday as they knew they were going back on Friday with no one watching!

ratster70
25-02-2010, 06:29 PM
Yeah i agree altho i heard from a very good source that JW still wasnt happy with the car on the friday test to so was a great result for first hit out in that case;)

Winterbottom tried something different (in case anybody is wondering) hence why he is down the bottom, see what happens for qualifying.

Good to see Van Gisbergen up the top, instead of the usual suspects. Ingall and Murphy went well in practice too. I hope they can be competitive all year.

Apparently tyre wear is going to be an issue due to the coarseness of the track.

What is more interesting, is the number of laps people did in that session.

As with Jamie's comments regarding the two extra practice sessions for HRT, Garth did a total of 20 laps during the 4 sessions, Jamie did 19 during his 2. The main difference is that HRT had more time for adjustments.

When 3rd place in the championship is already a full race behind in the points after 4 races, I think GT has raised a valid point! I'd even go so far to say that if JW wins Leg 1 of Clipsal, that we should give him the 2010 title and let everyone else fight for 2nd!

LMAO! T8 deserve all the credit in the world. A really great team who just build a better mousetrap than anyone else.

It really goes to show how good Triple 8 are. I know there are not a lot of differences between the Falcon and Commodore under project blueprint so I'm not really surprised to see them doing well. What I didn't expect to see was that they would be this dominant so early in the season. I guess we could see some history int he making, as I'm struggling to think of when we've had a back to back champion in different makes.

Personally I think all four races have been in the most boring to say the least. I know why they went to the ME for the $$$$$'s fair enough & the tracks visually look great but my god they don't encourage racing just follow the leader - geez I do that every morning in the traffic on the way to work.

CH7 coverage is as usual rubbish - too much of HRT, T888 & FPR - it's a brand new season with lots of new cars/drivers & paint schemes & they waste it on the top teams - there are 23 other cars running around but you won't know it.

Whingecup has to be the biggest ****** since that moron who went to NASCAR a few years back - He complained about HRT getting an extra 20 mins practice for being in the lower 50% give me a break.

Horrible Racing Team will be lucky to finish midfield if they way they performed in the ME is any indication of how their year will go.

Although I'm a Red Lion supporter (except T888) it's good to see Van Gisbergen starting to show his true ability alas in a dark side mount.

T888 are the stand out team - they remind me of HRT in the late 90's early 00's totally dominant - just can't stand the driver, nor the owner.

Let's hope the racing gets better - it can't be any worse regardless of how much those 4 CH7 clowns try to gee it up!

VE II
28-02-2010, 06:25 PM
Few thoughts - If 888 wasn't at Holden, Holden would be getting snapped this year!!! (so far anyway).
It's awesome to see that Winterbottom has a fast car and I'm so stoked about Gizzy! I've always been a big fan, and it's great to see him sitting around the top 5 or better for each race so far this season - not to mention 2x podiums! :D
DJR will only get stronger as the season progresses.

There are so many strong teams now so you could easily be 1st one weekend, and down the bottom the next.

In saying that, 888 are just an amazing team. I'm not a huge fan of whincup, but full credit to him - he can steer alright!

Hopefully HRT will start to get back into it come the australian rounds.

I don't want anymore dark side drivers or teams coming over to the Lion - there are too many already.

There should be 30 cars - 15 each make.

It's too lopsided for my liking - although I see the dark side doing well this year if the first 4 races are anything to go by (unfortunately).

well after avoiding this thread all w.e and too stuffed to read through it last night heres my take on the w.e the full track offered some very great battles more than ive seen in a long time and also over quite a distance of the track rather than the criscross and its done NEXT! so that was great

this yr im going to do something a lil different and try find some funny things to pint out about the w.e after bahrain served up so many

firstly during top 10 with winterbottom was out of the car did anybody notice he had signed his own hat :p

2 the bigpond signage on the straight after turn 4 ? did anyone notice as there was no safety car it had come unstuck and the first few drivers were copping it on the windshield as they went under it b4 the cars airflows flicked it back up after each pass

3 sunday when skaife had the drive in whincups car and was explaining to whincup lowndes and rolland about his thoughts on the car 2 things caught my eye

lowndes eyebrows were rolling up and down like a wave pool the entire time like windshield wipers

rolland dane looked like he couldnt care less what skaife had to say and just tuned in and out of the converstaion

1 other thing to note and nothing was said of how it happend or replay or anything reindlers car wtf happend there and why did it catch alight after sitting there for about 4-5 laps b4 it did ?

and as for hrt at 1 stage i looked at my man will davo and said outloud good golly F... man what are you doing to yourself this yr!!!

hope they can pull something back but id be guessing moral is next to nothing at clayton and in the fly away camps atm :(
