Garry ... thanks for posting this ... the Waroona car show always gets a good showing and tends to attract a few cars out from southern regional towns, cars that wouldn't necessarily be seen at similar events in Perth. You get a mix of specific show cars as well as what appear to be daily drivers.

Waroona is about 80kms south of Armadale, on the South West Highway, and about 15kms south of Pinjarra. The town has a good pub (for lunch), and the car show always features a market stall area, including automobilia, as well as crafts and plenty of food stalls.

Graeme, thanks for the extra info.
I asked Sue for the details so I could post in on the forum.
Going by the feedback from last year, it will be well worth the drive. Unfortunately, I'll still be working......well..... in the shop at least.

An excellent day out,the good thing about this show is the all in nature of it among all the usual Holden Ford and Chryslers you might find a Datsun Mitsubishi or a Rambler as long as it was at least assembled in Australia by Australians It Qualifies.

It's a good thing for a small town, as are the bi-annual shows at Brookton, which is about 100kms east of my place up here in Roleystone.

Courtesy of my brother, last week I had the Adventra tuned and the brakes upgraded, and with a belly of fresh Mobil 1, I think the ol' wagon might be looking forward to a stretch on Sunday.

The Aussie Car Day proved to be a beauty this year ... really good weather brought out a lot of cars and some I hadn't seen previously.

My star car for the day - don't shoot me down - was an original one owner 1981 Chrysler CM Valiant sedan, purportedly the last Valiant to be sold new from a Mitsubishi dealer in WA. It was a little ironic to see Mitsubishi Motors of Australia compliance plates under the bonnet, when Chrysler Australia used to previously do the same to Mitsubishi product made in Australia.

This car has travelled a genuine 55,000kms and is virtually brand new in appearance, but for some slight tarnishing to the diecast chrome plating of the bumper over-riders ... one other thing that surprised me was on the display specifications card, the original purchase price of approximately $10,800. By 1981, those big Vals would only have been directly comparable to a Holden WB Statesman in size and general presentation, hardly similar to a VC Commodore or XD Falcon.
