I wonder whether these frequencies change over the course of the season ???

I know they are published on the avesco site for each race meet, but to they actually change ???

Has anyone ever bothered to listen to them at the track ???

Considering (from my understanding) you require specific radio equipment to hear them is it really worth all that money (for the cost of a radio - I saw one in Dick Smiths for $599) ???

cheers.

Considering you can pick up a cheap scanner these days for as little as $50, I would figure it would be a worthwhile effort..
Besides it can be useful for the rest of the year , well if you are into this kind of thing..

brch17, yep they do change for each event although i find they are usally around the same frequency. HRT change skaifes sometimes.
I find it very interesting listening to the drivers comments and strategys.
They can be picked up fairly cheaply although you can spend quite a bit. i use it at home to listen to the local fire and police.
cheers.

Thanks for the info guys. The v8 site was running late with the frequencies, but I was very interested in the new rules for F1. This year they must make their radio chat available to TV & commentry people for the world to hear, just like NASCAR CART etc.
I was looking for the F1's seeing I was attending Albert Park.
I made up a head set that has scanner in one ear & FM race commentry in the other. Its a great way of keeping up with "everything" at the tracks. Bathurst is especially great as I watch from Pit straight in front of a big screen. You can imagine how much there is to follow & absorb in 7hrs of racing. That's one reason it's called a Great race.
Skaifes Team oftern "scramble" their radio chat, but all the others are good to listern to. Race Control has some interesting chat, especially when someone's going to get a drive through penalty etc, you can hear them tell the Team Manager, and then wait for the reaction when they tell the driver!!!!!
Thanks again - roll on Adelaide.
