Hi All

Well its time for some more kiwi's to come and visit oz land - I'm flying over to come and watch the racing at Ipswitch with a little holiday relaxing on the gold coast as well :) April 27th till 5th May

Could people recommend some good model shops to go look at around the gold coast , or while heading to the motor racing, are there usually good deals at the track - or has there been in the past ?

Also does any1 know what teams would offer a chance to have a look around there workshop ?? Have looked at the Stone Brothers, but not sure it will be open because of racing ..

Thanks for any help / advice
Cheers
Mike

Not sure if they will be open or not....but there's always DJR, and also PMM which is not far from Stone Brothers I believe.

In regards to model shops....I'll send you a pm....as it might be deemed as advertising.

I think youd be pushing to get into any of the teams workshops in the time your here mate but still go to DJR they have a small museum set up that is well worth the look as has PMM as well as the V8 driving school where you can go for a thrash in a near race spec V8.;) there is several model shops down around the goldy but thats been taken care of by previous poster. As for the track there is usually 2 or 3 shops that turn up but i wouldnt call any of the buys bargains unless its old stock getting cleared or over orders;) hope you have fun here knows i will:D

I know DJR run tours through their workshop on some days each week - might be dependent on the race schedule though. Contact them through their website or give them a call, they should be able to tell you whats happening & available.

further to m-karts info on DJR, if you wish to do a workshop tour (which is very interesting) you need to book in advance with them.

I remember last year I walked into the shops that were there - saw some of the prices and walked straight back out

Not too many bargains to be had
