do you have a digi pic of my steamer and if so could/would you be so kind as to post the pic here on this forum

As requested here is a picture of Ferrari Fan's tractors. Not sure if these were made in Maranello or had V12 engines but I'm sure there must be an Italian connection somewhere.

The Delorean in the background is a 1:18 scale model just to give you some idea of the size. Just like FF ......... Its Big !.

(Remember the picture has to be approved by admin before you'll be able to see it).

First of all thank you very much Jager!:)
There is no direct link to FERRARI ,but it just showes the enormous strides that have been made in exactly 100 years.
this piece of equipment was the bees knees in 1902
There is actualy a tractor brand FERRARI!!!!! NO MODEL AS YET.
The tractors on the foreground are a HANOMAG and a LANZ BULLDOG SIKU 1/32 the Case is 1/16!
I will do a display of OLD tractors (steelwheel) this year at the MODELCAR EXPO as the ferrari's cannot be displayed due to the obvious reason and this will bve something different.
All of these have come from USA ERTL. the diecastmarket in tractors is mindblowing over there while here almost nothing is available
I have collected everything FERRARI F1 so this is a new challenge
will also have a modelstationairy engine 1/8 scale that actualy works
I am not big just well build :D

Hey ferrari fan,
I like your Lanz Bulldog model. My Grandfather took me to a tractor pull a few years ago and he showed me one, I loved watching it idle as the front wheels were bouncing off the ground. Is that the tractor with the one huge piston pointing forward? and any idea were you can get good model tractors from?
Cheers.

Yes the Lanz Bulldog is a single piston low compression, runs on just about anything incl old sumpoil:confused: and has more grunt than the complete field of V8's put together; serious!
Your local John Deere agent might have some J.D models, other than that there are 2 other people that do sell these (JD) and some other models
The rest or realy all comes from USA and or Ebay! search under "tractors" or "tractors 1/16". For LANZ models German Ebay and SIKU manufacturers.
If you have a stockist that is a SIKU dealer it is easy as they ,The wholesaler ,have them here in AUST. Lanz is #3459 and Hanomag R45 is #3460.
Ertl is the big name in this and a lot of models (older ones) fetch HUGH money that make your eyes water
good luck hunting.
If you want to get a quarterly publication on this than TOMMS magazine is the one

Cool tractors FF,

I remember years ago I used to work on A Country Practice, and we had a storyline that involved this one guy (played by John Polson) who had this amazing old tractor collection. The tractors we used were actually on a property west of Sydney, and had been collected by the owner over many years. I don't remember the names of them all, but there were about 15 different models that were working, countless more that were used for parts or were undergoing restoration. The one that most impressed me, and again I can't remember the name, was one that required a 12 gauge shotgun shell to start it. There was a bolt assembly on the front where most of the others had their crank, and the shotgun shell would be screwed into the assembly and hit with a hammer, providing a charge that would crank the engine. It was amazing how quickly this thing turned over.

That particular model in a track cofiguration is called a FOWLER VF
the name with wheels version, escapes me just at the moment.
These engines are also single piston jobs albeit this version is High compresson and therefore does not last as long as the Lanz or Landini types which are low compression
It is just plain annoying if you cannot remember the name that is on the tip of your tongue
The particular tractor is green with silver horizonal lines and comes in 3 versions Mk1,Mk2,Mk3.and made in UK.
it is started with a shotguncharge but without the scrapnell in it :D
To see and hear one of these running is something else ,you can feel the energy!
To start one of these you also need to put in a small roll of fosforus paper rolled up and quickly ,after the insersion of the burning paper hit the starting shell with a brass hammer
We start these sort of tractors all the time at the Whitemanpark trsactor museum, of which I am a member

The tractor that I could not think the name of and is the one to start with a "shotguncharge is a FIELD MARCHALL
Larry Perkins does have a webpage purely for his tractors!
There are many people especially in the outback that do have large collections of old Horse Power.
15&16 of March is the Scoresby Steamfest in Melbourne with all sorts of old tractors and the like
www.vicnet.net.au/~mstec for more info.

Anyone looking for tractor models should go & have a look at Farmworld when it is on later this month at Lardner Park, Warragul (Gippsland).

There are always a few stockets of farm models on display each year.

I'm sure it not far away, however my girlfriend tries to not tell me when its' on because she hate going.

Pitty, I always find out.

cheers.:D

What is it with Italian sports car manufacturers and tractors? a guy down the road runs a Lamborghini tractor that sadly doesn't have gullwing doors or a V12....Perhaps Ferrari Fan can enlighten me! And in a race which would win?:D

Hi FF

Did you know Alfa Romeo were also a large tractor manufacturer up until World War II. According to local legend, a shipment of 30 - 40 of these were on a ship bound for Melbourne when war broke out and they were offloaded at Fremantle. The Alfa Romeo club has found one engine that was being used to run a bore on a farm down south, but no other evidence of the tractors remain.

Here is the Alfa Romeo Tractor factor circa 1920 :-

Lamborghini was purely a farm machinery manufacterer and the boss of this wanted a better finished ferrari car ,he complained to Enzo who told him to whatever.
Count Lamborghini swore that he cou;ld do better and went in production as a way to annoy Enzo Ferrari.
This is why there were/are Lamborghini's as roadcars around!
He even went into F1 for a while but did not get the result.
I believe he was the one that gave Zannardi his intro in to F1.
other drivers were Gachott etc,
I am writting this at work and out of my memory ,I can not look it up as all gear is at home.
In motorracing MORBIDELLI is a machirery manufatory same as ferrari was during the war.
MV AGUSTA is also big in Helicopters and that sort of gear not as a motorcycle manufacturer.
This is very often the case in Europe.

Ausrtalia is the first continent and country where a self propelled wheeled vehicle drove under its own power (The BRAE) after UK!
I did put up a subject about this before
History proves that this was even before USA.
Australia seems not to care about it but the rest of the world does
The actual machine has been found in bits and pieces and is now being put back together here in the west
this to me is of significance.

This last weekend at Whiteman Park was the anual Motorcar show and what a great event it was again!
Due to this crazy Liability insurance controversy no tram rides no Tractor parades just static displayes Shame!
The tractormuseum started for the first time a Hart Parr of 1920 vintage after a groundup restauration and what a sweet sound it makes!!
No computerBS or any of the sort just some Muscle power and a hamer!
The take off had PLENTY of wheel spin even at idle
Good to see some of our forummembers takintg part in the overall festivities
This coming weekend is the round the houses of the vintage club in Northam WA

Ferrari did not loose , The team came Fourth!
The big winner was Formula 1 and all the fans of it!!
I cannot be unhappy with that.
