Can any forum reader can tell me where can I purchase this publication -the magazine has a picture of 1/43 scale McLaren F1 GTR in the Orange Crush. A contact was saying all copies are sold out.

Most of these books are only beings sold in Japan (the text is all Japanese). If you are looking for a source outside of Japan the only one I know of is F1modelcollector@blueyonder.co.uk - at a cost of £25 plus p+p.
From what I heard, most sources are selling the books without the all important 'postcard' that you need to send off in order to enter the draw to win one of those orange McLarens (limited to 1,500 pieces).
Even if you can get one of the books with the postcard intact and are lucky enough to win one of the models in the 'lottery' they will only ship them to an address inside Japan.
Perhaps after the draw there will be a few of the books on ebay at low prices from people who only bought them in order to obtain tickets to the model lottery.

Do NOT confuse this ripoff publication for the one from the factory ,that has been on the cards now for a long time

Hey Ferrari Fan;
How can you say that this item is a rip-off, you probably not have seen the item in its full content. From the pictures -they give you are star rating to most of the models that are available
Last year I e-mailed Minichamps directly about their proposed book and will be delayed probably until the end of the year -and it only covers up to 2001.
Just don't judge a book by its cover.
A very large Sydney based international bookstore had few
in stock. (2 weeks ago) Store name is Kinokuniya, located in the city center.
The ISBN of the book is ISBN4-87099-815-7
It?fs a great book that includes many nice photos. Nicer than the standard Minichamps catalogue. There is an interview with Paul Lang, (Yesterday, today and tomorrow of Minichamps) and another interesting story about few Japanese collectors who travel around the world searching for rare models. There is also a section, which shows the different boxes, dealer editions, promotional models?c. Etc. I'm trying to ask my friend to translate the interview for me.
In the back there is a full list of all Minichamps models made from 1990-2002, and another list of all Japanese shops that carries Minichamps models.
The star rating (below each model) tells the difficulty to find the particular model in Japan. 5 stars being the most difficult to find. I found the judgement very fair. Most of the rare ones are also hard to come by in the international market.
Hopefully the official Minichamps book will be even better than this.
PS. There is also a free poster in the book.
