Guys,

Decided to order a blue XY GS ute from Trax and yesterday received it - bloody nice model for the price.

Best of all it is different being a GS ute.

Got me thinking........why havent Biante or CC done GS cars yet?

As someone has mentioned - how many XY GTHOs do we need?

As for the XW and XY, Biante could easily do XY GS sedans, the wheels of the XR and XT are the same as the XW/XY GS wheels and with the body being the same, it really is a no brainer.

With the XA and XB Coupes, they could easily do GS coupes and the colour combinations of the GS cars would look fabulous.

Also, with the Sandman utes and utes in general, how good would 1:18TH XY GS utes and XB GS utes look ?

How about it Biante?

I ask this all the time, granted I am not a Ford man, yet XYs are constantly being made.....and people want more!

Got both colour versions myself and they do look good. GS are a great alternitive to a GT. XY Sedans and Utes. XA, XB XC Coupes, Utes and PV's. Correct me if I'm Wrong, but isn't John Goss Specials, GS Coupes.

The John Goss Special is based upon the XB Falcon 500 hardtop, with the following stipulated options:

GS Rally Pack
302 2V V8 engine (with single system exhaust)
4-speed manual floor shift or 3-speed automatic floor shift
Sports Handling Suspension (with 185SR14 steel belted radial tyres)
Sports console
Carpet

The XB-series GS Rally Pack consisted of:

GT type bonnet with NACA ducts and bonnet locking pins
GT type (12-slot /14” x6”) silver painted road wheels (dress trims excluded)
GT type full dash instrumentation
GT type three-spoke steering wheel
GS specific side stripes

Variations of the GS Rally Pack as applied to the John Goss Special cars are:

GT type road wheels painted Polar White
GS specific side stripes deleted

The GS Rally Pack was an available option on all XB-series vehicles across the range, but for the exception of base model Falcon (Falcon Standard) sedan/wagon, base model Falcon ute and, of course, Falcon GT sedan and hardtop.

The GS Rally Pack was an independent option pack (code 48) and could be specified regardless of any driveline options. In effect, you could buy a basic Falcon 500 sedan, wagon, ute or hardtop with 200ci six-cylinder engine and three-speed manual column shift, and still specify the GS option.

It became my Sons Car upon his GF buying another Car (A Honda).

My FIL is not known for his mechanical sympathy. The XB overheated 100kms away from the Farm. He rang & I was going to collect the XB with my Car Trailer. When I got half way there, I saw the FIL & I immediateley knew that he'd blown the HG

An easy fix though. My Son wants to do a total nut & bolt engine & tranny rebuild & body restoration.

I'm not sure whether he knows what he's in for or the $$$ involved.

GS range of Falcons is a top idea :D

plenty of models could be made inc utes and panel vans ;)

possibly even a FG GS

After the John Goss Special arrives, the easiest tooling exercise for Biante will be to replicate XB Falcon 500 hardtops and XB Fairmont hardtops with GS Rally Pack options ... the XW and XY versions will, at the very least, require new engines and new diecast bonnet moulds.

XW and XYGS variants shouldnt be too hard, although the XB would be an easy one to start with.

Biante's XRGT engine could be used as a replacement in both models, unless a 351c is required. only a aircleaner change on Biante's XWGT would be needed.
As far as bonnets go, the XWGT unit without the scoop would do the job for both ;)

I am wishin' and hopin' for a few GS's of the McLeod Ford variety...ie stripes, front/rear spoilers, wide rims & rubber, perhaps a sunroof and dare I suggest.... a set of lakes pipes...exacly like they were selling like hot cakes down at Rockdale back in the 70s....:D

I wonder if either CC or Biante will make the FGs in 1/18.

If so, will we see the following FPVs - F6,GT or a GS?

Maybe something different, Biante still have the moulds? XA Superbird 3 colour variations.
