Not too many surprises in this lot.

What I did notice was that most are still getting there cars right etc. as most drivers posted there quickest lap on their last lap or very close to their last lap.

I noticed this is the first practice session. Is it right ?

Still Ambrose on top of the time sheets with the HRO cars breathing down his neck.

Will be intereting qualifying this afternoon.

You are right Grubby - it is in the 1st Practice session as well. Hmmm - can't be right.

Good to see Bright up there! Looks like Brad Jones is struggling in the BA.

Also noticed that Steven Richards is in a Castrol VY Commodore. Maybe the news takes a bit longer to get to NZ but didn't know they had their VY ready yet.

I know what you mean Grubby.

I was just happy to see that the Shell cars were not down the back !!!:)

What I think is interesting is that most of the people were down the back last year (apart from DJR) are still there, regardless of who they might now be driving with.

The Rat comes to mind considering he ran from DJR chasing a betta car - I know its' only early day, but who is laughing now ???

I think Bargs in an EL must be a missprint on asvesco's part, but I'm supprised he was so far down the list.

Can't be long now until the qualifying results are published for us who are in other states.

cheers.

I am boys, I sure am !!!!!

Steve up to 5th - how good is that !!!

I just hope Max hasn't put it in the wall, watching him come the field should be good if he's car is as good as Jr's !!!!

Gee that VY that Skaife ran at the AGP must have been re-born.

Isn't it ineresting that the cream always rises to the crop in V8 Supercar & the shot out will be very interesting.

Good effort my Cam McComville & Glenn Seton in getting into the top 15 shoot out.

I keep thinking how much would have Cam won, had be not smashed up one of Dick's Falcon's at Bathurst in the early 90's & got a drive with a good team.
I think his little crash (distruction of the rear of the 18 Falcon) put a lot of people off side at the time.
Good to see that Ashby & Read are getting some good exposure for their small outfit.

I guess all that pressure of running a team on Glenn's shoulders is starting to pay off.

cheers.

Brad

I always thought that Adelaide was a top 15 shoot out but the V8 Supercars site says it is only going to be a top 10 shoot out ?

I'm not sure.

Eithway your boy is in.

On the HRT site it says that Skaife & Kelly are feeling better about the handling of their cars.

I'm sure they will still get better.

Perhaps with all of the points being that same for each round they might have gone for some stablality with the shot out as well ???

Either way, DJR are there & anything can happen !!!

What did happen to Maxy Wilson ? Do you know ?

Sound like poor old Maxey had gear box problems,
the following is taken straight from the V8 supercar website
http://www.v8supercar.com.au

...........After showing a great deal of promise in this morning's practice sessions, Shell Helix Racing number 18 pilot Max Wilson was struck a cruel blow when after just one lap in today's qualifying session, he experienced gearbox problems leaving him without fifth and sixth gear.

"I'm shattered with this," Wilson said.

"I felt so good in the car today and was really starting to make some quick laps.

"To be left without even a shot at qualifying really hurts but I know that I can make a few places from the start.

"And history shows here that I wouldn't be the first person to win here after starting from last," the confident Brazilian stated.

Wilson begins race one of the Clipsal 500 in 34th position ........

Hopefully with this little bit of bad luck behind them, Saturaday & Sunday should be good !!!!

cheers.
