Hi,

Has anyone out there taped the RPM special on Barry Sheene and Friday's V8 Superstars that i could get a copy of? Because Good 'ol Tassie TV (Southern Cross, which is a combination of channel 7 & 10) has decided to give RPM the flick in favour of snowboarding and the like. We didn't get the last V8 Superstars down here either so I suppose that's gone too?. I can tell you I'm starting to get pretty pi**ed off. If anyone can help me out please email me at:

Cheers, Jason

Yeah Jason, me and the Mrs are NOT happy as well. would like to see all episodes of V8 Superstars and RPM shown here in Tassie . Just because we are a tiny state at the bottom of Australia (across the Bass Strait) doesn't mean we are not part of the Australian scene . We seem to be drifting so far behind with everything, soon we will be called ----- THE ANTARCTIANS---- and NOT Tasmanians. Do any other Tassies agree?
Absolutely peeeeeeeeeeed off.

One thing Tony C said was that Symmons plains didn't have up to date facitilties for the V8 supercars to come down(the main game) but didn't rule out the Konica seris to race in Tassie.
Tony's brother who works for the Variety charity who ran the evening, the autions where great and the WA comedian-he really was funny.

Hey SWRT - how did you manage to get the prototypes of those 2 cars? Also how does that 91 Nissan look (92 is out already)??? Any sneak pics?

Jason - I did tape the show as it was on at 11.30p Friday night but I taped Sundays race over it... sorry.

I won them at the Biante dinner Thursday before the race.
1 of them in a trivia contest and the other in a ticket draw.
My dad won Tony Ricciardello's left front panel from the Wakefeild park Konica series round.
It was a great night with Peter Brock,John Goss,Jason Bright,Rick Kelly,Kim Jones and the Historic tourers manager being guests.
Peter Brock also reciived the first prototype of his Minicar Bathurst 72 Torana.
Admin,Richard or Bev will give you more info about the night.

Also the Godzilla prototype I won isn't the up coming 91 version,it's a prototype of the 92 Bathurst Godzilla with WINFIELD signage on it.It also has incorrect wheel spokes-6 instead of 5.
The only other owner of a 92 Bathurst Godzilla prototype is Admin(trevor).

SWRT - sounds like you had some luck on your side that night and your dad winning the guard as well. I couldn't win a thing even if I was the only person in the draw lol.

Wow prototype of the 92 car! How good is that!!! Thought you might have done a typo. Could you post some pics of the nissan would be nice to see.

I wonder if Biante will do this for other race rounds? Sounds like it was a great night.

Sadly I don't have a digital camera or scanner but the owner of the other car Admin does have some picture of my prototype Godzilla.
Biante did have a dinner at Bathurst last year on Friday night and hopefully there'd be another this year.
I'm hoping Bond and Bob Morris would come to the Bathurst one with Brocky and Goss.

The amount of memorabilia and prototypes at the BIANTE headquarters is worth seeing for sure if you ever get the chance
