I am looking forward to it as well, I'm also looking forward to seing some other 1960 and 1970 1.43 models of Holden and Ford such as FB. EK. EH, HR, HD, HQ, HX, HZ etc etc etc I'm getting a little tired of the endless versions of the Skaiffe Comodore and Monaro's

The Chargers are in production now as we advised everyone early Feb. The factory has been shut for two weeks for CNY, so they will be leaving around the 3rd week of March.
If everyone realised the hassles of getting the license for this car you would understand the delay.
Its been 30 years since the real car was launched, so just wait a couple more weeks!!
Real fact is Mark is the current Champion of our most popular motor racing category, so the demand is there for models etc .
We will get around to all the cars but on one hand people are saying "There are too many models" and the rest are saying "make this...make that"...I can't win no matter what I do!!
But, as an optomist, I will keep on trying to please eveyone.
The engineers are here Tuesday to do HQ, J, X and Z cars and commercials and also XR and XT GT's, so we are trying!! Will also look at XM/P and EH.
Happy collecting.

Now that's just cheeky, FF! Like politicians, I'm sure Trev doesn't want to be reminded of something he said in good faith 2 years ago!:D

FF you bugger, I thought it was a recent topic, but no, you have been mining again.

I wonder how much longer we have to wait.

I have decided now, that whoever makes the model first gets my money.

I am sure Trevor does not mind as he ,just like me, knows that 'where people do real work, things do go wrong or run over time etc.
I do think that the licensing is the problem ,not the model building.
Trevor does need to get all the paperwork in order before proceeding, unlike the other comanies, who seem to take the plunge.
Poor Richard, he ordered more nonsleeping pils and cancelled all his social commitments.

Hey Charger

Noticed alot of talk of the Chargers....Can anyone help me out with any prototype pics of the proposed Chargers or was it mentioned in passing in another thread?

Ps Got the Carlectable Chargers, the E38 Magenta and the E49 Hemi Orange...I thought they are great tho I luv the Magenta (got 2) just for the little gimmicks it has when compared to the subsequent Chargers produced by Carlectables...

Cheers:)

Maximus
08-06-2004, 10:30 AM
Did you get the Hemi Orange and Chivas Beck race car aswell???

Hey Charger
08-06-2004, 11:33 AM
Yep.....got em all...but the Magenta stood out.....due to the color and also the fact it had the gimmicks that the others subsequently didn't come with for the same price.....

I'll buy the Biante, if they come out, as well...like to support both..competition is good...helps to raise the bar and we win with better quality products at reasonable prices.....

So if there are any photos of the 1:18 Biante Chargers, wud luv to see them...thanks
:)

I was asked by my old supplier, would I like to put my name down for the AUTOART Silver Charger.
I said dont you mean Classics & he said no. Definately AutoArt.

It must be coming I just dont know when.

Admin, any info you can tell us???

Nick Short

C'mon, somebody must have up-to-date info on this! I can never find anything on the CC website, and Biante are clearly not even close to releasing a Charger........Silver E49, it's not much to ask.....

biante11500

cc is releasing a silver charger in 1/18 in oct. i read it in one of the post on cc forum. also some of my friends are members of cc club.
and they informed me it was comming out also from there news letter from cc. i have them all vitamin-c, magneta, hemi orange, chivas & beck and comming in july the Norm beechey shell charger
i cant wait so cc will get my money. there all great looking cars.
the only differance the magneta has from the rest is its a e38 1971 and it has the bonnet stripes and the windows roll up & down were as the e49 chargers dont. they said the reason for this was because the mould was changed for the 1972 chivas & beck bathurst charger and the placement of the windows were correct for the race version. then the vitamin-c & hemi orange e49 chargers were released. does look like they could have put the plastic rollers in the door panels for the street versions though. so the windows would crank up & down. but i guess they figured thats just something else that most of us would break playing with them.:D

Since Tony dug up this thread again, I'll put my Charger question here.

I was checking out the upcoming Norm Beechey Charger... then I also saw the Geoghegan version coming up awhile later. So, add in the Perkins version and I have a few from which to chose.

As I would buy one of these mostly just for racing representation in my collection, my question to the group is: which of these do you think looks best and/or best represents the Charger in terms of Aussie racing history? In the looks department, I am leaning towards the Beechey.

Thanks!

Maximus
01-07-2004, 10:34 AM
Well you can now add 1:18 Leo Geoghegan 1972 2D Bathurst Charger and even the Bob Jane Camaro to the list of must haves.
Check out CC site to see what else is on the way.

Cheers

I have never seen or heard of that one.

zeitgeist - i'd say Pete Geoghegan version as it came in 3rd at a time when it was up some awesome machinery from Ford and Holden...just had that battler story about it and that it nearly had the chance of winning the race (memory is failing here, so I should say "think" it had a chance) makes it all the more appealing

Brett, the CHIVAS/BECK charger is the go then if you want the closest to ever win Bathurst.

It came 3rd behind Peter Brock (1st) in the 28C Torrie which I think you have now & John French (2nd) in the 5D Wild Violet XY GT HO Phase 3, which I am waiting for Biante/CC to do.
Once that car is released then you will have the 3 podium places for 1972 Bathurst.

The Chargeer has an amazing story about not being able to change the rear tyre cause the locknuts had really locked onto the threads beacuse the threads had heated up & swelled or something like that.

Cheers & I hope this sort of helps.

actually theres two more racing chargers in the works from cc.
besides the upcomming beechey shell charger.
and here is the info i have straight from cc admin. the next chargers after the beechey is the silver hemi r/t street charger.
then two Leo Geohagen chargers. first 1972 e49 charger #2d castrol orange/black stripes.
then 1971 e38 charger Geohagen/Brown #43d castrol white/blue stripes. the 1971 white/blue #43d is a sharp looker. iy would be a toss up between the beechey and the 71 geohagen as best looking model charger in my book.:D

1971 e38 charger Geohagen/Brown #43d castrol white/blue stripes.

im waiting on classics 1/18 version for the size and better detail.
heres a link to trax for a picture of the 1971 #43d geohagen charger. so you will know what the cc version will look like.

I'm very glad I'm not having to rely on Trax to model the cars I like! The CC version will be a looker, and the silver E49 is a much-awaited car. I'll get that one, but will still be waiting to see if Biante release theirs!

Reading through this & recalling previous threads has got the grey matter working. Why (or what) has caused the licensing issues for the 1/18 scale Chargers that weren't 'in the way' when the 1/43 versions were released??

I'm getting a little nervous that we won't be seeing Biante 1/18 Chargers - with the impending release of the CC Silver E49, I'm not sure I can hold out on the Biante release any longer:(

My CC Vitamin C Charger is amazing, and I'm just trying to picture the same model in silver......drool! My curiosity about any potential Biante version was simply because Minichamps released the BMW M3 E30 in 1:18, but AutoArt's later version blew it away. If Biante could improve on CC's Charger (although I can't see how!) then I was interested to see it!

I haven't had a case of door droop yet. Are you sure that its Chargers & XA/B/C models that suffer from this or is it your over priced Ferrari's:p

All my doors seem to be holding up fine.
Some people are just too rough with the models opening and closing parts.

I know that a certain model shop has on their website stated they are selling the Biante XA-XC Coupes with doors that are dropping but it is the first I have heard of the CC Chargers.

Nick, the Silver E49 WILL HAVE A BLACKED OUT BONNET as confirmed by CC Admin.

When I originally started collecting I wanted only 1 manufacturer so they would all be the same but I can not wait for Biante to do the Chargers and older Falcons so I bought CC's and I am over the moon with them.

I think Biante has missed the boat on the Chargers & will find it hard to move their stocks if they ever do them.

Maximus, it was my faulty memory! I had read that the model would be coming out with a black bonnet, but then was reading an article about the E49 that said the blackout wasn't generally available as an option, and confused the two! I wonder why CC are making it with a black bonnet if the real thing didn't - unless they're modelling one of the few that got one unofficially.

I think the problem is Mercedes Benz takeover of Chyrsler which may mean licencing has to be approved from Germany from a group of guys who no idea what a Charger is let alone what it looks like.

I am led to believe that you could get the bonnet blacked out as an option but, yes, not many people did it.

I know that CC Admin stated that they had a look at the car with & without the black bonnet & the one with the black bonnet looked the best so thats the one they went with.

Any which way I will get it.

I was informed today (Thursday) by a model shop that Biante are making a silver E49, and he showed me a Biante photo showing a silver Charger with bonnet blackout, and he emphasised that it WAS a Biante, saying that there will be some overlap in future between CC and Biante (I guess with older Falcon road cars as well?) and it would be a matter of choice over price v detail. Now I know that you can often hear a lot of hot air from shops, but it was on a sheet of paper with other up and coming Biantes (Bronze Wine XY etc), and I thought I'd pass on the news in case there's something in it.
