And not far from there down the road ,at Whitemanpark ,Maybe the last old tracktorparade will take place from 12.30
due to insurance cover problems (seems to muck up nearly everything that has fun associated with it ),it might be the last one chance to see the oldies do there stuff, if one is interested in this sort of thing together with a huge tractionengine on steam.
it is all happening around malaga way!
p.s. will there be any diecast models on show ,or is it only open for plastic kits and the like?

guys that saw the Torana drag car or GTS street car or the modified falcon at triking, they are all at the show. not to mension my cross8, FJ ute and LM-spec monaro. and also there is some mad max cars in there too

i recomend you all go check it out (if in perth) entry is only $5
i took some digital pics but they arent workin on my G/F computer otherwise id post them somewhere. sorry.

It was a very good show indeed ,there were that many people in the room that it was inpossible to move. This was offset with the many people that I met up again, what a pleasure to spend a couple of hours yakking about models
The pictures are a good indication ,but do never justice off the real overall work great to see that rob's work is in the pics and also my good mate (rallyvolunteer and mad about DJR (garagedisplay, which won the people's choice at the modeldiecast expo in may this year)). and the great truckdisplay that I had the pleasure off having next to me at the expo.
there were even model dragcars, rocketcars including a continous video of these going trough there paces .
this event has to go to a bigger hall cause this will grow bigger for sure.

This is a copy of the the reply i posted regarding custom decals wanted .

And yes the Warwick yellow monaro was awesome as well as the police bust and green torana well done to all.

In response to your question on custom decals .
today sunday the 10th july I attended the annual Super Model Car Sunday a custom model show held at the hot rodders club in Malaga a Perth industrial suburb .
This event features models that have been custom made or heavily modified in diecast and plastic .
and also monster radio controlled 50cc sprint cars /super modified speed way cars doing wild demo's in the carpark , not to mention the wild 1/1 scales parked up and down the street eg L34 XYGT and too many rods to mention them all .
Perfect weather, perfect day you could say'' Perthect '' die cast capital.
Anyway back to your question on custom decals , there was a stand selling every thing from diecast , plastic kits and custom made decals the chaps name is Yves Zuber and he trades as '' White Fang Enterprises'' email yzorcas@aol.com or mobile 0419 198 214 he had a good sample of the decals on display and the seem to be of a very good quality.
To those luckily to live in Perth keep an eye out for Cruisin the local hot rod show on Ch 31 to see what this show had to offer.
also got a personal invite to go and have a look at a 5000 model collection , no other details will be given regarding this as it is confidential

I keep hearing conflicting stories about the show and was told that this year diecast models (even modified diecast models) weren't welcome - yet many of the prize winners are obviouly modified Biante's. Wish the organisers would make up their mind !

chances are its other entrants that dont welcome the diecast becuase there are very very few diecast generally entered but they usually end up winning..

the majority of the entries are plastic kits of some sort or another..

diecast were very welcome.. I got a letter talking about it a while ago and apparently you can even enter WOOD! models... as long as you built it or modified it in some way you can enter it.

Sorry for the time delay since this thread was posted, but I only just stumbled on it so I thought I should register and clear up a few misunderstandings.

Along with my wife and four friends, I have organised Super Model Car Sunday for the last seven years. There has only ever been one rule to our show - you must have built it or modified it yourself. From a diecast point of view, this is what is eligible.

Any diecast model that you have dismantled and then modified and rebuilt yourself.

Any diecast kit that you have assembled yourself. Yes, I know you cant tell a prepainted kit from a factory assembled model sometimes(bBurago and Maisto spring to mind) but we will stick by our rule. This gives young kids a chance to participate with a nicely finished model.

Any old diecast, say an early Dinky, Hot Wheels or Matchbox, that you have stripped and restored to original condition. It wouldn't hurt to display it with some before and after photos so that people can appreciate what you have done.

Generally, unmodified, straight from the box factory assembled models are not eligible. However, if said box stock models are displayed in a scratchbuilt diorama, they are in. Several of our entrants in previous years have presented very impressive displays this way, and after all, they built the display themselves - the diecast model simply becomes an accessory to the display.

We dont play for sheep stations, and everybody who comes to our show has a good time. Diecast have always been very welcome - in fact, all of our committee own diecast models, and one has displayed modified Hot Wheels all seven years . This year we made sure that we had plenty of diecast models on hand for the infamous"Wall of Models" free giveaway to every entrant at the close of the show.

Diecast models have won three of our People's Choice awards, and one of our Modeller's Choice awards during our seven shows so far. They are an important part of our show.

If anyone stayed home because they thought they were unwelcome, I feel very sorry for them. If you hear ANY rumour about our show(or any other event for that matter) it always pays to ask the people that organise it. Hope to see you all next year.

Hi again to all,

This show was and is a tribute to custom modellers ,
and gives a great insight to what can be done in all types of models , this may not suit all just as the signing the actual model by legends does not suit others .
but I like it .
And this is what it is all about ''collecting'' the way the individual likes.
This show was shown last night monday 25th july on Cruisin our local hot rod show on chanel 31 and will be repeated this coming weekend check your local tv guide too see a sample of what the show and many 1/1 scale rods and street cars had to offer
It was '' PERTHIC'' not HIC
