Has anybody had a good look at one of those Adelaide le mans
crocadile cars done by minichamps.
If looked at closly you will see that where the names are behind the drivers seat there is a Australian flag with the name-B Jones.
Thats right, its there because Alan Mcnish(now toyota f1 driver)
nearly missed the race because of a bad back and Audi called him incase Mcnish did miss the race(he didn't).
Jones did a session in the Audi R8 and was meant to race but didn't.
After the race due to the rules Brad Jones was a technical winner because Audi entered him to drive it.
Second in the race was little known driver Alan Heath(Konica series driver).
So if you are a Brad Jones collector go and get this model.

Brad Jones must have been also the driver of the Audi ,together with McConville, that I have posted a question about .
So hopefully someone can shed a bit of light on my question
P.S. I believe that Maisto also is bringing out a 1/18 model of the same car ,if this is as good as the earlier ones ,great.

Hi SWRT

There are actually 2 versions of the Minichamps Croc car - 'Finned' and 'Unfinned'. Reportedly the "unfinned" Croc model was made by Minichamps using the standard Le Mans moulding of the R8 as advised by Audi prior to the Adelaide race.

However the R8 Le Mans configuration proved to understeer around the tight Adelaide track so trim tabs were added to the front wings of the car, and in the intervening time slight artwork amendments were also made to the original design provided by Audi. These alterations led Minichamps to alter the moulding as the Adelaide car was no longer a standard Le Mans R8.

The unfinned version is considered the rarer of the two models, but I don't know which version Biante supplied.
