I notice in the Daily Telegraph has very minimal coverage of motorsport. If there is any it's only tiny but there startin to fix the problem.
In tassie during the Targa Tasmania news from the rally gets front page coverage, same in Adelaide during the 500 and even once for the Classic rally,Canberra(when they had the 400),Bathurst,once I saw a full page devoted to the Super tourers when they raced at Mallala in the 2000/2001 season and the Herald sun consitanly has pages about motorsport.
Once I even saw a full page about the Konica series when they were up at Lakeside last year.
The worst coverage I've seen is the Daily telegraphs story about Paul Morris's Oran park crash. The Daily Telegraph only had a quarter page story about it but when I went to the Holden Performance driving centre July last year I saw what was left of Morris's flaming wreck there was a front page of the Gold Coast Bulliten and they had the story of the Oran Park crash right on the front page.
Shame on you Daily Telegraph and Channel 9 for your poor telecasts of F1.
I'd rather Auto Action and Motorsport news any day.
I'd also like to know from others out there now the Darwin and Perth papers cover the V8 rounds when thier out there.

I Agree, SWRT.

The Daily Tele and 9 network don't put any money into motorsport, so they pay little attention to reporting it. The Tele don't let facts get in the way of an inaccurate rumour, as per your other thread on Brockie. The Sun Herald at least has a regular column (limited info, tucked away obscurely in the sports pages). On TV Nine usually don't even give results for the V8's.

If you want real coverage, you've got to go for the specialist publications (Auto Action etc). For TV, go pay-TV. Foxtel have excellent highlight packages of the V8's, and cover all MotoGP (formerly 500cc) bikes and Superbikes (usually live), NASCAR, Speedweek etc. About the only thing they don't have access to if F1, and that's due to Nine's stranglehold.

Cheers, ET
