Skaife 1 of 50 mounted 1/18

Anyone seen this ive seen one at my work today and cant find anything about it
its 1999 skaifes hrt car with a wood platform that sits on the wall and it has marks signature on the wood
theres only 50 made

These are HRT issue, both skaife and Lowndes were done. I think skaife was red base and CL was blue base, they currently sell for between Au$350.00 and Au$500.00.

Some are still around at HRT dealers not many though.

Minichamps did a similar thing with F1 cars, base was not as big as HRT though.

The 1999 cars( 50 Skaife and 50 Lowndes) were mounted on a Blue Base and if I remember correctly only the Skaife cars were signed. They also done the same with the 2000 HRT cars ,once again 50 Lowndes and 50 Skaife but these were mounted on a Red Base and only the Skaife one was signed.

Lowndes had already left HRT before these were released, the reason his cars were not signed .

They had an aluminium plate mounted on the wood around the cars with all the race tracks that were used in the series that year.They came with an A4 size Certificate as these were done and released by HRT.

If I recall my hobbyshop tells me they are either a code 2 or code 3 as they are Biante cars but altered by someone else.

It would be good to know how they are coded or classified.

On release of these cars the prices varied from $315.00 to $375.00. The Skaife cars were dearer because they were signed. The 1999 Lowndes car was selling for $315.00 and the 1999 Skaife car was $350.00 according to my Holden receipt as I have both the 1999 cars.
