I was wondering do you guys and girls think certain certificate numbers make models worth more. For example if you have say 0005 of a Brock car or 0017 of a Dick Johnson car etc.

Like you stated in your first post, Brockie gets 05 of everything, Dick gets 17 of everything.
This has been brought up before, I think the general concensus doesn't think COA number means anything to value.... except where someone wants a certain number to coincide with a build number of their own 1:1, and how much extra they're willing to pay. I wouldn't pay any extra for a COA number.

Richard gets #3, Geoff gets #2, Brock get #5, John gets #12.
Drivers get their number...ie Murph get #51, Rick gets #15, Tony got #25 Sierra, Bondy got #4 etc, etc.
Hope that helps.
Oh..and Gavin who has been with us since the first Biante, gets the last one of everything.
Glen, wouldn't you like my collection of number 1's???

Oh one last question admin
Say with Murphy you give him number 51. How do you know where number 51 is say out of the 3000 that arrive?
As i wouldnt think you go throught 3000 cars to find number 51?

Don't care about the number personally. If I want the car it's worth heaps to me.

personally I go for the car, not for the COA although I do get excited when I get a lower number then I already had (currently thats #43 from memory)
However that said I do also make an effort to ensure the driver autographs the COA, eg Skaifey has autographed all my current 1:18 Skaife Biante COA's, Murph and Brock etc are the same. If it adds value I dont know, but I do know its a challenge for me and I enjoy doing it

I would imagine that the certificates are done as a seperate item and then added to the models in the warehouse not the factory. The relevant driver would get the lot to sign and then each certificate is allocated to a model....before it leaves the warehouse on its way to you or a shop.

I think the certs add something to the model.... being limited and all...but I dont think a particular number means alot unless its a number that has a meaning.. IE the drivers racing number (4,05,51 etc) OR the No. 1 which Trev is always gonna get...
apart from that doesnt mean a thing to me... although I still like trying to get a low as possible to beat the lowest I have currently (No. 13)

I guess getting certain certificate numbers is an individual thing, but overall it would't add extra value to a model as it is the model people wan't to collect and display not just a certificate with a certain number on it. I must admit I like opening the box of a new model i buy to see a low number on the certificate, but really it dosen't mean much. ;)

I pretty much agree, I don't believe COA number makes much difference, certainly not to price.
Out of interest lowest number I have is 0027/3000 but I have a few high numbers - 2996/3000, 0988/1000 & 1987/2000.
I also bought 96 Lowndes/Murphy Bathurst and 95 Brock/Skaife Bathurst on same day, and retailer offered me same COA number (0064) for both releases. Doesn't "add" to value but is nice touch to have matching numbers.

Did Gavin miss out on this one? A 1979 Moffat Federation XC was, as of last night, sitting for sale in Triking's with a COA of 6000/6000...I assume it was for sale and not just on display as it had a price sticker on it.

I'm guessing from the names that Geoff and Gavin are the company hairdressers. I could be wrong of course.....:D
