KINDLY emailed this bunch months ago concerning three orders I wanted to make - never returned my email, so emailed them once more and tried calling. Nothing.

Made my purchases elsewhere.

Shopmotorsport are actually Byrne Ford in Chermside QLD.
They sell models out of their spareparts dept so i reckon if you ring them & talk to the spare parts dept they would'nt like to be getting a bad name as they are a very big dealer in QLD.
Hope this helps

Still its no way to run a business by not answering emails. I know i will never buy off SHOPMOTORSPORTS again and i would suggest anyone looking to buy cars off them think twice.

a car dealership 'specialising' in model sales.............

Didn't know they are a car dealership, but I do know they missed out on a potential customer with $500+ to spend. End of story.

Is this one of the models that you got from their sale for $50.00.

I went and got mine in person and yes some of the boxes were slightly damged and others not, but they were old stock and for $50 I was not complaining -its the model not the box i'm after, BUT THAT'S JUST ME.

At least your model was in mint conditon...

I bought the Rick Kelly HYL car from them, when it got to me there were no screws holding the car to the foam packing, and the rear spoiler had broken off

There was actually a thread re Shop Motorsport that seems to have gone MIA...

The guy's name is Mark and he's a top bloke. He keeps me updated, replies all emails withing 24 hours and I've never missed a release ordered through him.

I don't think the store can do much if something gets damaged in the mail. Was the item insured? I think the customer has the right to an exchange or refund if the actual model is damaged though.

I've always had a refund or new car given to me by most dealers I have dealt with when a car had a flaw that wasn't picked up at the point of purchase.

Username,

I pick up some cars from this place and I've never had troubles with boxes being badly handled. Although there have been 1 or 2 occasions where I've picked up really old releases that had dusty boxes (but the cars themselves were fine). What's a bit of dust when the price is so good?

thanks Gan88, I'll give them a go. I didn't realise some car dealerships stock models - Performance Automobiles here in Hobart are a pretty reputable bunch so I might give them a call to see if they have a 1:18 Subaru looking for a home.

On this topic for acquiring a damaged box, I'm after a box for my A/art VW Phaeton which I purchased a while back from store, and was carelessly shoved in my bag on my way to school. Doubt there is someone here to help me out, but worth a try.

thanks

Sorry but I got two Betta Electrical cars not the Bright HRT model.

Like Gan88 said SOME of the old stock were a bit dusty but most of models on display out front (in boxes) looked perfect.

I agree, if the boxes were damaged then it should have been mentioned BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY THEY WERE GREAT PRICES.

Sorry to hear some of you guys have had dramas but personally, like Gan88, I've had nothing but good service from the guys at Shopmotorsport.

I've bought from them quite a few times now and the only problem I've had wasn't their fault. I ordered quite a few models during their stocktake sale in April. It was a big enough order that it needed to be sent in two boxes. Although they were both sent at the same time, one box arrived on (I think) a Tuesday, while the second didn't turn up until that Friday!

Like I said, not their fault, but before the second box turned up Mark had arranged to send a replacement for one of the missing models and a credit for the other one (as it was the last one of that particular one he couldn't replace it with the same model). Typically 15 minutes after getting off the phone to him the missing box was delivered!

All of the models (and their boxes) have arrived to me in perfect condition each time - no damage or dust.

The only improvement I would suggest they could make would be to ship via someone like AAE so that a) it is quicker than Australia Post and, more importantly, b) it is trackable, so if it does go missing you have some chance of tracking it down. But the tradeoff is that they probably wouldn't be able to provide the cheap postage (free on orders over $200) that they do currently.

Also if you sign up for their membership (from memory $50 initially then $30 per annum after that) you get a substantial discount off the purchase price of everything they sell. The savings I've made through the first couple of orders I placed have more than paid for the price of membership.

Apologies for sounding like a paid advertisement (I buy from quite a few different places, including the Biante website), but I have been impressed with both their prices and service.

My 2c worth anyway
